The Saints threw a lot of 6-8 yard passes on 1st down to set up short second down plays. Kamara averaged only 4.1 ypc. It just seemed like more b/c they had a ton of 2nd and short runs they converted into 1st downs.

The main problem we had with the defense is that they let the Saints control the clock and keep our offense off the field.

Did any interior DL on Dallas disrupt the OL yesterday? Seemed like if there wasn't a free outside rusher the ends would wrap around while the QB didn't have to move since the guys directly in front never budged.

If you take away WR gadgets/Taysom Hill etc., their feature guy was 17 for 69.. that's "in check" to me including negating a key 3rd and 2 in the second half. I'm not sure how much running they did? Zeke was like 23 for 75 last year in an eerily similar game last year. They just had his # last night. Our line nor does Zeke suddenly suck.

The announcer even showed a few times when he was attempting to show how the Saints Oline was moving our defenders but in reality they were just stunting out of the hole the RB was going through

Well our defense has been giving up 96yds per game to the rush, they finished with about 116..so it's not like it wasn't expected.

Take away the 20 or so yards we have up to the "gadget" plays and they allowed their average for the year thus far.

Well, you're right. I think I'm just totally so teed off I can't think straight. We lost this game because of 2 glaring weaknesses:
The OL who gave Dak zero time to throw the ball (unlike past weeks)
Whoever called this game. No speculation. but they stuffed up. Totally.

that game was on the OL. Fredrick and Williams both had bad games....Saints got push up the middle all night and zeke often was met in the back field or at the line...there were no creases or openings....

If someone told y'all Saturday that the defense would give up only 4 fgs on the road to the Saints everybody on this board would have taken it.

That’s undoubtably true. The offense didn’t score enough points to win, and you would expect if you could hold the Saints to 12 points that would be a win.

On the other hand, that doesn’t change the fact that the DL played horribly and let the Saints chew up TOP like crazy. The Saints were able to run the ball when they needed to.
