vs the 49ers? Tampa had limited success in the few times they ran, but had to abandon it early. Our run d has been a weak spot for this defense

We got Haskins, Watkins, at dt. We got LVE at mlb. And d law who all 4 play the run well.

We are a much, much better run defense than when we played Chicago.

This is not us against gurley in playoffs getting gashed and ruining our season (a few years ago). We fixed our run d. The Bucs tried and immediately gave up running against us.

This is our best run defense in the past 5 years. Is it perfect? No. But it is more than adequate and will not hold us back.

This run D gives credibility to making a Super Bowl run.

Go Cowboys! Talking Super Bowl here!

The run D didn't really get tested at all. Tampa Bay only called 12 rushes last night. 5 were with a tired Lenny Fournette (his YPC makes Zeke look good). 7 were to Rachaad White late in the game when the Cowboys were in prevent.

They were tested sternly by Tampa Bay's short passing game though, and that asked them to rally to the ball and make sure tackles like a good run game would. And they delivered astoundingly well.

Dan Quinn basically went 2013 Super Bowl on Tom Brady. You can try those quick hitters, but we have a fast, swarming defense that can match up with you in space.

More confident now that LVE and Hanks are back.

We’re fully healthy so no excuses. We can’t let run D be the reason we lose in the playoffs…AGAIN.

Zero confidence. Much more confident in their ability to pressure than I am shutting down the run.

Our best run defense is a ball control offense that can score touchdowns to convince the 49ers they can't afford to run it anymore.

That's something they should have considered in the offseason when it's time to upgrade players. It's a personnel issue not a scheme issue. Yet these morons put absolutely no effort into upgrading DT.

I thought the Bucs called a terrible game. Completely abandoned the run just because we contained it early on and took the lead.

The 49ers certainly won't make that same mistake. Their entire identity is based on punking teams with their physical OL and run game.

The key for us will be to force them to abandon the run by the 4th quarter, which will only happen if we're ahead. Playing from behind against SF usually leads to bad things.

Hankins looks like an upgrade. How much of an upgrade remains to be seen.

What are the chances Diggs will at least make an attempt to tackle a running back/wide receiver?? He had a couple chances last night, and made a "career decision."

This. Our offense has to click. We have to get up early and we have to force them in throwing the ball more. We can't let them control the clock and run.

Well he has no choice this week, Deebo Samuels is a monster after the catch

SF is going to run the ball we know that, how many times can we limit them and put them in 3rd and long will be key. Those will be the key battles, You will not stop SF running but when you can force them into 3rd and long Cowboys must come up with the big plays.

Not sure since Tampa went to AIR BRADY all night. We'll find out next Sunday.

Not expecting them to shut down the 49ers, but if they can be good on 1st down and make them move the chains on 3rd down, that is a win.

Not that great. They will face the strongest rushing opponent this week.

3 headed monster with CMC, Mitchell and Deebo at times rushing.
I think the 49ers will have some success at running the ball. Main thing is the Cowboys offense staying hot and trying to gain a lead/make them pass more than they want to.

Very little
The niners are a different animal
Their run game is predicated on discipline and physicality but their RBs have speed and can take it to the house 20, 30, 40 yards and they beat up their opponents so they know they will be able to run it late in the game even if they struggle early. so even when they fall behind by a couple of scores they don’t abandon the run game
