How Dak & WRs Are “Starting To Really Click”

OXNARD, Calif. – Fourteen practices into the Oxnard leg of training camp, Dak Prescott is making progress with his revamped receiver group.

“We’re starting to really click. We’re started to get it,” he said. “As I’ve said, we had a lot of new guys come in at receiver and playing different positions, especially with a bunch of different guys that each have something different to offer to our receiving corps. It’s been good.”

The Cowboys have two practices left in Oxnard, including Wednesday afternoon’s workout. The team is schedule to return to Dallas on Friday with more camp practices set for next week at The Star in Frisco after Saturday’s second preseason game at AT&T Stadium.

Prescott’s connective with his receivers is arguably the biggest storyline of camp. Only three of 14 wideouts were on last year’s 53-man roster all season: Cole Beasley, Terrance Williams and Noah Brown.

I've become leery after the "beautiful pass" type comments over the years, but I'm still gullible enough to want to believe everything positive I hear in TC.

well we better not hear any excuses when he gets pressure and "the wr can't get seperation, or don't know the routes crap" or "everybody is hurt crap again"..

I can tell he is throwing the ball with more touch and accuracy. The rate he is improving at by next camp he should look like a flat out pro bowler. He has improved big time since he took over for romo in that Seattle game. He needs to stretch out a little more but without turning over the ball. I really hope that Gallup will earn a starting role and gathers is still on the roster. Jarwin has speed. Swaim doesn't impress me. Anything swaim can do I know gathers can do when it comes to getting open catching and yards after the catch. I have high hopes for Austin. He is going to have to learn how to catch and.go down without getting his block knocked off. In other words he needs to become more aware because how he can make a complete impact is to run routes in traffic or in the middle of the field as well as the outside. Im talking about the traffic area the 10-15 yard area in the middle. If he can some how get used to that area as well as up the sidelines he will make a huge impact. His speed and quickness in the middle of the field would bring a new yet effective wrinkle to the offense. It would keep his juices flowing if he can be used in all areas of the field equally. I really feel the rams didn't want to use him in the middle of the field because.of his lack of size in fear that he will get hammered. All it takes is practice and being aware of the opponent and how to run a route where they can't cream you. I really hope he will consider going into these so called big receiver areas . Thats how he can show he is a leader by doing things that would be out of his comfort zone but being effective.

Of course they are starting to click. They have been going hard since the draft. I can't wait to see Hurns, Austin, Gallop, Beasley, Twill and the others against the Panthers. I expect Elliot to explode in the passing game as well. Question for everyone, How many Wrs will Dallas carry on the 53? They look strong at this position thus far.

The offensive line looked outstanding during the 49ers game. I think that Williams will add a spark to an already great line. The O-line carries the team. They set the tone during the run game and give the receivers time to route run on passing plays.

I think its 24 days until Dallas destroys the Panthers.

The Cowboys want the receivers to learn the entire route tree first before deciding which players are best at running certain routes.

Might be the best news of all. Should really make a big difference. Coaching matters.
