How Dallas Seasons Eventually Ended Per Each Week's Record

Started
10‐1 twice - lost first playoff game.
11-1 twice - lost first playoff game
12-1 lost first playoff game.

Clearly we need to get off to a cold start.
It's all about who's behind Center.

Three times the team has achieved a 13-3 regular season record. One QB took the team on a monstrous all time playoff run by blowing out his biggest divisional rival, then beat the team of the 80s on their own field, then one of the biggest blowouts in SB history against a very strong team while collecting a SB MVP award.

The other two immediately lost and went one and done.

Boys? I'm 61! Why I should... wait... are you a genie? Can you take me back to my teenage years? Pretty please?

There is nothing profound or complicated about the OP. It is just a reflection of how each season's team ended after they reached a certain win-loss and/or tie record during the season.

Each team is different from year to year. However, I will be interested in this upcoming season whenever someone speculates about how the team's season might end--especially if they are at a +.500 record at any given point. Then I can look back at this data and say how well previous teams did after reaching that same record. It's just a trivia resource for conversation.
You posted a bunch of numbers with no explanation of what the hell you think it means and expect the rest of us to understand. And then you have the audacity to try to spin it away. Dude…..

Some of us are able to use our brains and come up with our own conclusions on what it does or does not mean.

Below are the percentages of how the franchise has finished after playing its first 14 regular-season games since its inaugural season. 14 is a somewhat arbitrary number, but I chose it for two reasons: 1) Dallas has played schedules averaging just over 15 games per regular season; and 2) 98% of all years have contained a minimum of 14 games during the regular season--except for 1960 (12 games) and the 1982 strike year (9 games). Using 14 felt like a nice, round number for my idea.

Total Games = number of times the team had the win-loss-tie record during the regular season. All other columns show the percentage of postseason success (or no postseason success whatsoever) per the total games associated with how often the team had the win-loss-tie regular season record:

Did you do all that work??

Not trusting anything that doesn't end in 6-7
ZANiNwx.gif

Please don't mention 67!:D Here are brief recaps of the four regular seasons Dallas did not reach the playoffs after hitting that mark:
  • 1965 - the team finished 7-7, ending with a three-game winning streak over the Eagles, St. Louis Cardinals, and Giants.
  • 1990 - Dallas exited its bye week, stumping the now Phoenix Cardinals 41-10 before falling to the Eagles and Falcons
  • 1997 - the Tennessee loss was the second of five straight defeats. In that 27-14 loss to the Oilers, dropping the team to 6-7, the late Steve McNair and Eddie George combined to complete only 9 of 17 passes for 81 yards, 34 rushes for 110 yards, and one touchdown. Erik Norgard caught the touchdown pass, his second of only two TD receptions in his eight seasons in the NFL.
  • 2019 - the Cowboys seesawed after losing three straight, beating the 8-5 Rams, losing to the 7-7 Eagles, and putting the year to bed by beating 3-12 Washington at home.

We need to get to 3-0 at all costs. Pretty good shot at a SB appearance. However, Jerry's technique or signing our superstars late after holdouts hinders our early season performance due to them "knocking the rust off" the first few games. My conclusion to this fine work is Jerry sucks, and Dak sucks.
