How deep are the Day 1 CB starters in this draft?

What is the cutoff point?

Ramsey
Hargreaves
William Jackson
Eli Apple
Mackenzie Alexander
Kendall Fuller
Artie Burns
Xavier Howard
Will Redmond
Sean Davis
Cyrus Jones
Kelvarea Russell
Jonathan Jones
Maurice Canady
Harlan Miller
Rahard Robinson
Eric Murray

The reason I ask is the desire to rid ourselves of Carr's contract.

Your opinion?

I think the cutoff is about Kendall Fuller. I am not sure Eli Apple would be a day 1 starter though? I think Artie Burns, Xavier Howard, Will Redmond and Sean Davis could be possible starters by the end of the first year. Kelvarea Russell if healthy has a good shot too.

If Scandy gets hurt do you just Mo on one side, an untested unproven rookie on the other? I don't think you can get rid of Carr without taking a vet. backup.

Sure but you can say that about any position. If you are without Carr and Scandrick then you need two starting caliber CB's. If you are without Thornton and Crawford you need two DT;s. If your without Mcfadden and Morris then you need two RB's to replace them. Imagine if Dez and Williams both were injured. OMG. LOL! Anyway the point is to draft a starting caliber CB to rid oursevles of Carr's contract and the question is where is the cut off for starting caliber CB's?

Kendall Fuller is recovering from a knee injury - he may not even be a Day One starter for that reason.

I think from your list it stops at Alexander, with Fuller a possibility if fully recovered.

I guess that would probably make it first rd or bust for a CB. I doubt any above Fuller makes it to 34.

Hargreaves-Jackson-Alexander, that's where I would cut it off as far as guys that would be immediate contributors at corner.

Well..., it really depends on the team but generally speaking, Hargreaves is where it stops for me. The rest are projections that needs some work.

Artie burns can start day 1. Sean Davis will be good by years end at safety or corner, too smart and athletic. And of course Hargreaves.

I am fairly certain, from what I have been hearing, that CB's aren't that important anymore.

I'd say the top 5 have a good shot. Plus, maybe 2 others later...but it's a crapshoot which 2

But you are talking about getting rid of one, and the other is coming off of injury. That seems like a lot of risk to put on a young new player's shoulders. Certainly I wouldn't do that with anyone but Ramsey and Hargraves (if we trade back).

I would do it with anyone I considered a day 1 starter. Especially when Carr is costing over 13 mil this year. If Scandrick isn't ready after a whole year then our problems are probably insurmountable. Carr was a 4th rounder that was a good no 2 in KC's system and has been disappointing from the start. I don't consider him irreplaceable or even worthy of staying on the roster another year.

Mo was considered a day one starter. Sorry I want to look at someone in a game before I trust my franchise to them. I think Ramsey will be great...and I have no qualms with him starting in 2017... but I don't think any rookie should ever be counted on to start. If we get rid of Carr, we need a backup plan if Ramsey isn't what everyone thinks he is, and we shouldn't rely on him to take over day 1.
