How dependent are Cowboys on OL?

I hate to say this but we need Chaz green to get it together. We need to Chaz green before the falcons game except we need him on the field and not the sideline. He needs to buckle down and realize that was only one game. He has talent if he can stay on the field and not get cramps or dehydrated

Chaz Green sucked before that game and he sucks now. Not sure which Green you are talking about.

Extremely dependent. Here are the reasons:
  • We are a run first team. We built this team for zeke to run behind a run dominant OL
  • We spent a lot of resources of the Oline. In terms of draft capital, more than any other team in the league
  • Some cite that missing Tyron and zeke for parts of last season is the reason for Daks down year

The C-boys are altogether too reliant upon their OL. Let's hope they pick up another backup (or two) before the regular season starts. I'd hate to see Dak being forced to take off running on every other down. That really wouldn't be a recipe for success.

Can our running game with Elliott still be dominating if we are missing a piece or two?

And what will the effects be on our passing game and Daks effectiveness?

Curious what others think the effects could be if the strength of the offense is compromised?

The biggest issue will be the passing game. I think the Cowboys will still be able to run but the online was always better at run blocking than pass blocking. Dak will have to work on getting of the ball quicker and throwing the quick hitting passes. One of the best ways to combat a good pass rush is also with good screen plays. Thats probably going to be what we see a lot of in this offense.

Or, we need Chaz to go away and be replaced by someone who can stay on the field.

How dependent are the packer on Aaron Rodgers? You mean they dont have depth at the QB position? What about the Texans? and on and on and on and on

how the hell is Chaz even on the team. I dont think I have EVER seen an Olineman get more embarrassed than He did last year when T went down. Why we kept him is beyond me.

It’s very common for teams to be dependent on QB. We were with Romo. But most teams don’t collapse unless their QB goes down.

Teams with great defenses are in better position losing their QB especially if they have a suitable backup.

Good question. My guess is since he was a 3rd round pick we hate to totally give up on him and we probably don’t have anyone better behind him.

I also think he’s probably not as awful as that isolated incident portrayed .

Bell didn’t actually do any better until we adjusted with some help over there.

This is as great opportunity for Dak to elevate us much like last year was. At least this year he still has Elliott.

Because we covet our players. We just can't let go players we chose.

Why do you even care, Greg? With the O line torn apart like it is your buddy has a built in excuse to keep his job...... again. Why don't you quit hiding your elation that Garrett will get another chance at sucking in 2019?

I feel fairly confident Dak will be able to overcome especially with Elliott. Dak is playing to secure millions in a new contract.

And our defense could be poised to carry our offense this year anyway.

These obstacles set up nicely for Coach G to optimize for recognition. Maybe another COY.

Coach G job was secure anyway as long as Jerry’s GM.

Extremely.

Our #1 strength, and #1 spot of vulnerability given lack of depth.

Outside of losing Prescott, our o-line is the most important unit
