he came inches away from having a int on a pass threaded by cousins. But how did he look today? missed most of it at work.

I thought the defense did good overall. Short fields didn't help them. From a few plays I spotted he did good. He'll benefit from more playing time. I like how he moves in zone.

He looked bad on that one play, where he started running backwards as Cousins ran for a 1st down, instead of blowing him up.

Like a rookie. He was active. He got lost in the wash a couple times. He got hurt again, which didn't look good. But I think he's a player with potential. He's a bit like Heath (in very limited action) in that he's at least in the right spot and he makes his mistakes at full speed. He's not a starting caliber LB right now, though.

No sacks, no pressure.. Ware being totally ineffective once again... We are awful up front.

If he has the real want-to, I can see a real player in this guy...

I hope he turns into something...

If he's ok physically, I think he's got a real shot. He just needs some weight and some experience. I like him, too.

ware is just beyond done right now. I still would not release him after this year maybe next year he will come back and be third down rusher for us.

He just runs himself out the play. I think his neck is in bad shape right now, because it looks like he visually doesn't see the inside well anymore and he can't push the defenders from the upper body like he use to.

That is the logic that Jerry has used in the past that resulted in paying 18M extra to Jay Ratliff.

You can't pay 12.25M to a 3rd down pass rushing specialist.

Holloman looked solid out there today. Nothing spectacular and no multiple screw ups. He just looked ok. That's something to build upon. Especially considering the state of the rest of the defense.

i thopught he looke3d poor, but for a 6th round rookie he'll get a pass.
He could have blown Cousins up on a run but bit on a fake pass to nobody.
Pl,ayed with poor technique on the inside shoulder instead of outside shoulder 2/3 times .
Doesnt seem aggressive in the run game but maybe he's thinking too much and not playing
Did jump a route correctly and just missed a pick.
Potential for the future but today i thought poor.

No you can't.

Win, lose or tie next week. Ware needs to be released or his contract significantly reduced.

I'd give Ware some credit for some tackles for no or little gain, but you are right, no sacks or pressure. The 4-3 has shut him down.

He's better at rushing the qb from a two-point stance.

Totally agree, but I would add a footnote that he doesn't look like a starter at the Mike but would be OK at SLB where he practiced at all season. He looked decent to OK, which for a rookie is good and shows real potential IMO. Most rookies look like Webb, some have flashes good and bad like Wilcox but all in all I thought Holloman looked good for a rookie thrown into a position he has almost no practice reps at.

Another point on Holloman is like the OP said, another three inches and Holloman has a pick six in the first quarter, with half a dozen threads here talking about him.
