How did Martin play?

For such a bulky guy he is excellent in space when he pulls. He located his man took him out and Murray ran for about ten yards.

He looked really good on some pulls and traps from what I saw. Seemed to communicate well with Free and Frederick.

I think the Tyron complaints are embarrassingly bad. He played well yesterday, but I guess all people see is that he gave up sacks when his QB had all day to throw and wouldn't throw it...and then would move into the area Tyron was blocking. Thanks for the help, Romo.

One guy is calling him a bum for his play yesterday. I couldn't be bothered to reply in any seriousness.

That one stunt that Troy and Buck said free missed was a really good stunt, both free and martin were engaged on two defenders, i do not know how you you block 3 guys with two guys.

I think he did good, but never focused on him specifically. Tyron Smith on the other hand, he looked more like a rookie than Martin.

Smith is like Flozell sometimes. BIG upside, but sometimes has those boneheaded penalties.

Broaddus said Martin dominated McDonald all game long. Can't wait to do my own review, but I cringe at having to watch our O again.

A positive to take from this game: yes the 49ers were missing Dorsey, Bowman, and Smith. But whenever I watch them they always look like a red avalanche coming downhill at their opponent on defense.

Not so much yesterday. In fact, I'd say our OL won the LOS battle. Even on D, it wasn't terrible: Kaepernick made two excellent throws on plays where the Cowboys got good pressure on the QB. And undermanned or not, they are still an excellent team.

I saw the game and we had good push but I'm no scout of lineman wondering if anyone's watched the film or does have eyes for lineman to tell us how he did. Thanks

Martin had a couple mental lapses but nothing that stood out. He killed McDonald the majority of the day. Got the 2nd and 3rd level consistently on run blocking assignments too. Every time Murray or Dunbar had a big run you saw Martins number around the end of the play.
