I didn't get to see the game. No DirecTV for me, and we were subjected to the Jets-Bills semi-pro game instead.

But how did the rookies play? I haven't heard a thing about the rookie contributions regarding the Rams game.

How did Spencer look?

Deon Anderson started ahead of Oliver Hoyte. Did he impress?

Who was the Nickel back when Henry left the field? Nate Jones? How did he look and perform?

My cousin recorded the game for me, and it's in the mail. But I'm just curious about the contributions of our future Cowboys. :)

Spencer started at OLB as usual; don't recall name being called.
Deon Anderson was to start in place of Hoyte; don't remember his name being called for anything.

Folk made all his PATs. No FGs necessary. One of his kicks returned for TD.

Free, Marten, Stanbach, Brown (Brown was hurt in Bear game) on the inactive list.

The jets-bills game was on CBS:confused:

anyways none of the rookies did much of anything, I remember spencer having a pressure or two, but nothing overly impressive

Actually, that was McBriar's punt that was returned 85 yards.

That is correct, that was a punt, not kick return

Anderson did impress me on blitz pickup, not as much on lead blocking though he did not stink there. The Rams played the run fairly well. If I had to guess, I'd say that they focused on stopping the run. The ypc for the RBs looked good, but that was because of big runs more than anything else. They were popping them.

Spencer did fine. Better against the run than he has in previous games, but Ellis came in for passing situations.

Folk didn't have any FG tries, but hit all his PATs.

One of the guys who kept standing out to me on Special Teams was Justin Rogers, the LB from SMU. He came within and eyelash of a great punt block and made a couple of good hits.

Spencer did have some trouble in coverage.

McMichael schooled him on the screen, and lost him on the flat pass for a nice gain.

He also was lining up at DT in nickel...our line was Ellis, Ratliff, Spencer, Ware...I wonder why we got some pressure?
