How Did The Schedule Makers Give Chicago Such A Cakewalk Schedule?

My word, these people have a bye week to rest up for the Niners and Dolphins, they have no excuse not to start 8-0! They may not however if they play like they did tonight they also must play Tampa, Detroit again, Green Bay and Minnesota at home this time, the Jets aren't frightening either. For a playoff team from a year ago they sure were handed a soft schedule.

In fairness to them, they dont control how pathetic the teams in their division are. It truly is a mystery how they got such a cakewalk, but the 3 week northeastern roadtrip is pretty much unprecedented in the NFL.

if we beat jax and the eagles, they would be a 500 team or worse.

if we lose to washington, houston and tenn, then u would say aww houston beat the 0-4 cowboyz what an easy schedule they have .

Tampa was a playoff team last year and if minnesota beats chicago they would be 4 and 1.

so if a couple teams win a couple game they lost, chicago games would look tougher, it's almost like playing the dozens.

If the Cowboys had beaten Jacksonville and Philly, then the Jags and Philly would be .500, but they would have that record due to playing tougher teams. That argument can really work against you. The Bears have played opponents with a combined record of 12-21, but their opponents records are somewhat inflated by also playing week schedules.

If we lost to Wash, Houston, and Tenn, then we suck! Houston would have had an easy game against us.

The Bears haven't played Tampa yet. Is this the same Vikings who lost to the Bills? The Bears have played teams with a combined record of 12-21. If they lost two games, the opponents would be 14-19. That's not real impressive.

The Bears just got lucky this year. They play in the weakest division (NFC Central), their division plays the 2nd weakest NFC division (NFC West), and their division plays the weakest AFC division (AFC East). In contrast, the Cowboys play in the NFC's toughest division (NFC East), their division plays the 2nd toughest division (NFC South), and their division plays arguable the AFC's second best division (AFC South).

It is hard to say who is going to be good from year to year. Anyone think Tampa would be a 1 win team before the year. Now, their division is horrible. As is the AFC East. It does stink that we have to play the NFC South instead of the North, but it is just the breaks.

The location of 14 out of 16 games for every team is determined on a rotation basis and is therefore set for eternity (theoretically). The other 2 games are determined by order of finish the previous year.

Only the dates and times of games (and bye weeks) are variable.

If the "schedulemaker" wants to make it easy, he makes sure you have no extended road trips and that you don't play many teams following their bye week. Who you play and where you play them is already determined.

Uh oh. This one's a thread-ended! Discussion over.
