How different would things have been had the first TD counted?

I think that first TD being called back because of the false start by L.A. turned the game. If we scored there, it would have been the normal last second/last drive type game. Not only did we not score, we missed a 30 something yard FG to boot. That killed us. I think we just gave up after that.

Anything that could go wrong...went wrong in this game. We need a leader on this team.

I could be wrong, but I thought one reason he squirted to the end zone was because Washington heard the whistle. It didn't seem to me like they were trying all that hard to keep him from reaching the end zone.

Take a look at the game again. This is exactly what happened.

Penalties killed us all day, but this play did not happen because the whistle sounded as Barber broke the line of scrimmage.

Was Barber wearing ear plugs? I think he was the only person who thought he scored.

Like I said in many other threads-we came out with no fire, no guts, no heart, and no motivation. And POOR game-planning to boot.

Even if we had scored, the final score would have been 35-14 anyways. Should this satisfy us?

Not much, unless 5 or 6 td's were going to follow that one. I didn't see that happening with old cement shoes under center and the 5 bull fighters(ole!) blocking for him.

This post is right on. I agree that having that TD called back changed the whole game. We score there and it's 7-7 and we quiet the crowd and help stabilize the game, which was vitally important considering the start we had.
