How different would this team be if Rogers didnt get hurt

No difference. Tucker would still start and Rogers probably would be riding the pine.

errr ... nevermind

(see post above mine)

Rogers actually was looking good early in camp - he messed us up by looking like he could start -- the guy has the talent to be a good tackle. He's just too soft.

I think we can learn a lot from Canadians as they have objective perspectives on issues such as NFL football.

He struggled in both training camps and hardly gets a mention these days. That's the kind of guy you draft in the 7th, not the 3rd.

Hard for an OL guy to get mentioned when he isn't a starter. Peterman's job is to sit behind LA and Marco and learn. Everyone can't be a starter right off the bat.

yep, of course you havent heard anythign about him, he has two probowlers starting ahead of him, and wont be getting much playing time or even mention of playing time because of it. Im definitely not writing him off he still has a future with the team, he isnt a guy like Rogers who is always hurt, he just never gets to play. Having a young guy like him sit for awhile to learn will be smart for the future though.

Of course some folks would say if Peterman was any good, we would move Allen to LT and play Peterman at LG. Of course, those people have sub-average football IQs.

Just pure speculation here. If Rogers is here how different is our offense (In particular our running game.) Flo gets hurt and Rogers slides to LT. If he wasnt such a wuss how do you think that we win against Seattle.

I have a better question concerning Rodgers who was pegged as being to soft and injury prone in college. What if we had drafted another player, say Darnell Docket or Tank Johnson(both good pass rushers) instead with our 2nd second round pick. We could have drafted Kelly Butler with the Bruce Thornton pick and had a solid right tackle which don't now. Docket is a Glover type player and we could already have Glover's heir apparent already in place. My point is this, if they hadn't wasted the off season last year, we would have three good drafts in a row.

I've never read, nor have I heard, that he was too soft in college. Injury prone....kind of an over-kill statement. He had a bum shoulder and obviously Bill, the staff and trainers thought it was something he could overcome with surgery and rehab. This shoulda, coulda stuff is absolutely pointless.

Rogers was probably the worst pick of Parcell's time here, and that says a lot. He should have never been a Cowboy.

Rogers had no HEART. The guy really didn't want to play football. That was extremely obvious, especially to BP.
Some of us tried to tell BP that BEFORE BP drafted him.

I'm a draft geek. I read everything. He had 3-5 surgeries in college, what does that tell you?

"If" Rogers was still here and playing LT...Bledsoe would still be in the hospital or dead. No way he'd be an improvement over Tucker or anyone else for that matter.

You're assuming that a healthy Jacobs could play well. BIG assumption.

I can, and we elected him twice! Bill, I didn't have sex with that woman, Clinton!

Yeah but one thing BP did that Jerry (or whatever crony coach we had) would never have done was cut his losses. BP doesn't have the ego about the draft that Jerry does. Jerry was always trying to show he was good at the draft by keeping junk players around too long. If BP weren't here we'd go another 2 or 3 years trying to make something of Rogers.

I'm giving Bill a pass on this one because he's done very well with most of the other picks.

Actually I can make any comment I choose to make. The same way many of you choose to comment on the governments of other countries.

I just read your post after I posted my last reply. Sorry brother!
