TO has alot of history playing the Saints.

December 6, 2006
Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens is obviously no stranger to playing against the Saints. In his eight years with the 49ers, Owens played the Saints twice a year for the first few years, totaling 13 career meetings against New Orleans. And his numbers are quite impressive, catching 58 passes for 938 yards and 11 touchdowns against the Saints.

Will then try and limit Owens therefore opening up things for Glenn and Witten and DARE IS SAY Barber as a Receiver out of the backfield or screen?

I think this will be a key to the game b/c i believe they will try to put the pressure on Romo.

That being said, i don't think it will be a contest.

The only DB i can name of theirs is McKenzie, and he is overrated.

he couldn't deal with Terry at all in preseason, and now you put him on TO, and put Terry on whoever it was that couldn't cover Hurd in preseason.

If they blitz they better watch out.

So they may end up trying to pressure more often with front 4 and put more in coverage, but i still think that won't work either.

I think their pass defense is what will be the biggest reason we win.

This years saints team is a different revamped version from a couple of years ago.

That being said Mike McKenzie and Fred Thomas can't hold TO's jockstrape as far as im concerned.

I expect T.O. to go over 100 and catch atleast 1 TD

Mike McKenzie is one of the most overrated corners in the league. Amaziing that he forced a trade from Green Bay. He reminds me of Mario Edwards with a smidge more ability.

One thing that has helped the NO secondary has been the pass rush of the saints front 4 who has 22.5 sacks just from their line. However in the process of trying to get the sacks the saints rank near the bottom on stopping the run.

McKenzie has been surprisingly solid this season. His INT count doesn't reflect that but I really don't recall him being beat that often this season.

Fred Thomas, on the other hand, has the pleasure of being the whipping boy of the Saints defensive secondary. He frequently gets beat deep although I do blame safety coverage as well. He'll be lined up on TO and Glenn and most likely will get picked on for a TD.

Jason Craft is the nickel back and many Saints fans are calling for him to be the #2 CB. He is decent, but essentially just a faster version of Fred Thomas. He can recover from his mistakes more quickly than Thomas, but those mistakes still occur.

The key to all this will be the Saints ability to pressure and contain Romo. Romo is pretty mobile so the Saints D line will have to be patient and stay at home or Romo can beat them with his feet. Should be a great game.

The Saints give up fewer yards a game in pass defense but when they do - its usually for a TD.

Pass defense:
Saints (give up avg of 180 yards a game) and 21 TDs for the season. They have 8 interceptions on the year.

Dallas (give up avg of 198 yards a game ) and 11 Tds for the season.
They have 14 interceptions onthe year.

In other words, Dallas defense is much better in terms of giving up fewer TDs and creating more turnovers where as the Saints defense gives up fewer yards.

If you look at the numbers and the match-ups - one could make a good case that TO could have a big game (especially in receiving TDs).

that matchup is the reason why were not favored to win this game

Passing ypg is a pretty misleading stat - with New Orleans, why pass when you can run all day? They allow one of the highest passer ratings in the NFL, have very few INTs as opposed to allowing the 4th most passing TDs in the entire NFL.

In short, they ain't that hot.

I think Drew Brees has been able to over-come alot of the Saints shortcomings (like their defense). I am partially biased here because I drafted Drew Brees in the 6th round of our fantasy draft - as I am a huge fan of his. He has always been clutch performer who manages the game as well as anyone. If Brees wasn't playing "lights-out" this season....I think NO is a .500 club.

I think that the Cowboys will roll in this one. Romo rebounds from his so called off day vs. the NYG to lead us in a win over the Saints. The NFL will soon be refering to the Cowboys as the team to beat in the NFC and it will start after our Sunday night victory. Dallas Cowboys • 12-4!!!

Actually McKenzie is one of the most UNDERrated CBs in the NFL.

He's not a superstar, but he is very solid. He gets away with some contact downfield at time, but I think a CB should be able to do that anyway.

He's a slightly better version of Anthony Henry (and I think Henry is solid).

We matched up very well in preseason.

I know it is preseason, but we beat their corners all night long along the sidelines. McKenzie prefers plays right in front of him and Glenn drove him crazy.

This matchup does not concern me.

That was actually pretty good coverage by McKenzie on that play.

It was just a GREAT catch/play by TG.

I hope to see more plays like that out of him, TO, PC, and JW on sunday. :D
