How do they fix their offensive red zone issues?

That alone will make the Red Zone offense much better. If they can cut down on the penalties and create an effective running game and have better play calling they will be gold.
Yeah like playing smash mouth football instead of being cute and going shotgun so much in the red zone

So to fix the problem, you ignore why they struggled cause it is a new year?
S the season's over it's officially no longer matters you have to judge this season on its own so yes and by the way I believe George Pickens is headed to Dallas so if you think Dallas is done I've been telling you guys to be patient because they talked about making two trays around draft time and this was one of them and it just took a while but everyone wants to complain we are more than 4 months away from September we haven't even broke for training camp yet the roster is not set and you guys keep complaining about last year if you want to complain about how this year went then we could talk about it at the end of the season not about last year this is not last year get it through your mind i'm not going to discuss how last year somehow is going to bleed over into this year..

Oline. But I've been saying offensively that's the main fix for dak. Second is runner last is pass catchers. There was no dez or Megatron on dallas in 22 or 23
Look this will help our run game it looks like George Pickens is coming to Dallas and I don't think the Cowboys are done yet but hey if everybody wanted us to keep opening up complaint departments before our rosters set and before game one they can keep doing it but I've been saying this this is their best offseason i've seen in a very long time and I'm bet it's not done there's plenty of free agents out there like Nick Chubb and other running backs they can make a trait for one of those as well...

As mentioned in my previous post, Cowboys offense ranked 2nd to last in red zone last season. Through my research last season, there were many things that contributed to their struggles:

-Negative plays (sacks, negative runs)
-Drive killing penalties
-Inability to run the football (league worst in rushing TD's)
-Turnovers

The loss of players like Dez, Zeke (early in his career), Shultz have really made to red zone offense suffer.

We need:

-Ferguson has return to his 2023 form, last year he didn't have a single touchdown.
-Need a back who has a nose for the end zone. New personnel, scheme should help.
-You could see why they had big interest in T-Mac, as he would of been a great red zone receiver. Could Mingo become this guy?
-Have to play more clean football from committing penalties, protecting the football
How about this for the red zone we have lamb on one side george Pickens on the other side Turpin in motion and Jayden Blue who you gonna take who you gonna stop boom...lol

Change the QB ....... and they are not gonna do that.

Draft a big time RB ....... and they are not gonna do that.

You were so certain they were high on Tolbert, told you they were trying to replace him.

Gotten much more explosive no doubt, but still have areas to work on to fix this weakness, protection, taking sacks, penalties, turnovers, etc.

Where is this energy when other teams draft quality players when they already have quality players they're not trying to replace them they're restocking they're making their depth bigger I mean I look over at Minnesota and what they have with Jefferson but look at the other two odd receivers they're really good they didn't stop at Jefferson they're not threatening their number two or number three receiver by bringing more players in.

. No they're not replacing him, hes still developing,

he's now just part of a good group this is the same as I say Amari Cooper Lamb and Gallup nearly all having 1000 yard seasons I still think Tober is better than most of the moves made this offseason with people that were named possibly coming here i've already named it you didn't want to listen but now you're backtracking I said more moves are coming and that this would not be the roster that suits up for game one and you didn't take that they've been working on this trade since the draft this is not new they never saw October as a number two wide receiver I said he has the potential just like them his numbers were as good as almost all those guys we've been talking about why bring him Cooper and Keenan Allen in here when you already have a guy that's been improving every year and their numbers are about the same on a rookie deal for less money??

I'm still saying that Jalen Tolbert's numbers were as good or better than most of them moves we saw from other teams you think demo Samuels and Michael Gallup are going to do anything special in Washington I can promise you now that lamb and Pickens along with Tobert and Turpin and Jaden blue out of the backfield we now have a better offense than Washington.book it

I keep saying we're going to get back a lot of players that were injured last year if we don't have another rash of injuries this team is already better than it was last year...
You can keep trying to twist my words I said that the Cowboys haven't brought in a Amari Cooper Keenan Allen or a player like that because they were not better than Tolbert except for the names on the back of their jersey they've been on a steady decline debo Samuels has had three years on a decline he hasn't been good since 2021 brandon Cooks had a terrible year last year tolbert is better than all of them.. That's exactly what I said but I also said they weren't done and I was right and you're gonna have to backtrack now..

Standing by my statements I've been saying this all offseason this has been a better free agent activity than we've had in years this has been a better draft because they weren't just going for need they were just looking for players they felt would upgrade this team even if it was too many players now as some positions they passed on getting receivers they didn't think fit because they were all the time going to bring in somebody from the outside, In my opinion they're not done yet micah Parsons is gonna get a new deal that will free up more money and I'm sure once they see camp and I said this we need to be patient let them see what they have as a team and a roster and they could bring in or make another trade before September..

They're giving up the negativity you can't be happy about anything it gets old so I'm going to keep crushing it with positivity that's what you need you need guys right we need juice now we have a legitimate 12 wide receiver group that's top five in the league immediately they might be number two or number three at worse but we already got more juice out of the backfield from blue we're already addressing the offensive line we changed our entire coaching staff so they can work on a different approach and scheme and you still can't see it it's the best offseason we've had in years the draft was better than it looks on paper and I kept saying be patient and I still saying they're not done all you need to do is get their camp they want to see what they have and if they need to make changes I believe this is the offseason they're actually going to make more moves and changes they've already done it and I think they're going to do more...

I am a fan of the trade!

Execution is important, but you still need the players to perform at a higher level. They couldn't run the football down there, couldn't protect their QB. They haven't made any significant personnel changes outside of Booker.
Agree. But Beebe should be better and the guard position should be at least as good. But maybe they need a bit more creativity. If you can’t run over them then run around them

Need a running game between the tackles, and an imaginative OC who can find some clever, unique plays that work in different situations based on the defense's formation.

The running game fixes a lot of red zone issues. Our hope is that our new RG is serviceable and our RT becomes the monster run blocker he was before injury. Also, the TE's have to block better

Well, the running game is not a cure-all, but it will help considerably. Still need better play calling that takes exploits a defense's weakness, or focuses on a Cowboys' player strength. Relying on low percentage fade routes, or developing pass plays that take time, they rarely work...so the OC needs to have some ready-made, well-practiced plays in the RZ, that are effective, and called at the right time.

Taking a look at the red zone offense 3 years ago when they were the league best, compared to last year when they were the league worst. Zeke had 12 TD's, Pollard 9 compared to last season where they had under 10 for the entire unit. There inability to run the football last season was a major reason why they struggled.

2022 Cowboys were #1 Red Zone Offense

-Zeke's last season prior to NE, scored 12 rushing TD's. Pollard had a 1K rushing year with 9 TD's. Team had just 6 in 2024. (Run game matters)
-Dalton Shultz had 5 receiving TD's compared to Ferguson's 0 last year. (Ferguson has to return to form or needs to be replaced)
-Line was Tyler, Connor, Biaz, Martin, Steele (this was Steele's breakout season)
-Lamb had a monster season, where Gallup/Brown were the secondary receivers (this was an issue against the better teams)

This thread has become about a Dak hating thread, not an actual football discussion. Have to accept he is our qb and isn’t going anywhere, how do they fix a weakness?

In 2022, they were #1 in the league, with the same qb, what has happened that made them dead last in just 2 years?
Kellen Moore left?

Get a mauling O-line a power RB and a tall X WR.

Oh wait, never mind :flagwave:
