As mentioned in my previous post, Cowboys offense ranked 2nd to last in red zone last season. Through my research last season, there were many things that contributed to their struggles:

-Negative plays (sacks, negative runs)
-Drive killing penalties
-Inability to run the football (league worst in rushing TD's)
-Turnovers

The loss of players like Dez, Zeke (early in his career), Shultz have really made to red zone offense suffer.

We need:

-Ferguson has return to his 2023 form, last year he didn't have a single touchdown.
-Need a back who has a nose for the end zone. New personnel, scheme should help.
-You could see why they had big interest in T-Mac, as he would of been a great red zone receiver. Could Mingo become this guy?
-Have to play more clean football from committing penalties, protecting the football

Having a big tall WR is the biggest issue and has been for years as a end zone threat.
They have not had that since Dez. Yet another stupid thing this FO has ignored for years.

I am very interested if Mingo can show something. This could be why they made that trade. Not for last year, but for this year.
He was barely used last year. So now has an entire off-season to be with the team. And to get in sync with Dak.
At least he will have a chance to prove himself with the new coaching staff. MM refused to use him, or seemed that way.

They were going to take T-Mac if he fell to their pick, he would of been a red zone monster. Mingo is the big unknown, has yet to play with Dak and just seemed to be off with Rush as the QB. Given a whole offseason, it is a big year for him to make an impact.

By changing out the entire coaching staff adding different players and running a new scheme oh wait a minute they did that so there you go.. Now we get the wait and seeif it works.
Mike Mccarthy was absolutely terrible when it comes to trying to figure out how to scheme better when there was a problem there was no adjustments so he's gone that's why he's gone....

First of all, you explain to the masses, who watched but didnt understand. Last year we had coaches who didnt know what their jobs where. That was part of the problem.

This year looks more hopeful. But without saying it, we all know who the number 1 road block is. accept it or dont, i dont need to rehash it.

Lets see what this year brings.

The top 3 red zone offenses have no tall wr. Yall think the solution to everything is a receiver
Baltimore/Buffalo have duel threat QB's and elite rushing attacks. Detroit has the best OL in football with a two headed monster and an innovative OC last season, we have none of the above.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! I was just about to say this, like seriously, not every team has a tall WR, but a lot of teams DON'T shoot themselves in the foot in the red zone with stupid mistakes, we have to clean this up, it's been an issue for years, it's like we're allergic to scoring in the red zone. We love to kick FG's I know that

Scheme is part of the solution, but need the players as well. Dowdle had just 3 rushing TD's, Ferguson had zero receiving TD's. They were among the league worst in pre-snap penalties.

They scored TD's at 46% rate, compared to the top team at 74%. Middle of the pack is around the 60% range.

They gave up 75% TD's in the red zone, the league worst.

They cannot win if this continues, everything needs to be on the table to fix it!!

Dak gotta stop making bad redzone throws, Scheme, stop the busted assignments, stop the penalties, Mingo/Schoonmaker have to make plays, Williams/Mafa need to have a nose for the end zone, and Ferguson needs to get back to 2023 form.

Well, playing most of the season with a backup QB, a starting running back you let walk, only 1 legit WR and an OLine ranked near the bottom.
Are we surprised????

depends on who you classify as dual threat. Is Caleb dual threat? I don't think so and bears were top 10
