I think we can all agree we have the stupidest team in the NFL and throw in the CFL too.
Look at our coaching staff....Ryan, Callahan, etc all respected and thought to be excellent teachers BUT the same mistakes occur over and over
We are not going to get rid of Dez in the near future. I think Jerruh is just too enamored with his potential and we do have an investment in him

Ogletree would be first on the list to bench, or release. There is no production to be lost and he still looks lost out there

Offensive Line....seems like every second play there is a missed assignment or mistake that results in a negative result
I dont think you can bench either guard because of the financial commitment and the lack of viable replacement. Same goes for the tackles although Free seems to be getting better

Felix..everybody would love to see him gone this afternoon! Soft, lack of run vision, no heart, injury prone, and just prone to dumb mistakes.

Jenkins???? really dont see much from him. Is he hurt again? yesterday he really looked tenative and trying to avoid contact. The first pass completion to Lafell he did not compete. I dont see any value here anymore

What other knuckle heads do you want gone...Romo is not an option! We are stuck with him

Accountability.

Nobody on this team is afraid for their job. Give anyone a cushy position and their performance is going to suffer.

They finally DID take Dez off the punt return unit, thank God! Next, Felix must be replaced-permanently. Not only for the obvious fumbles, but for lack of vision. There was a play in the third quarter where the right side was completely sealed.

All Jones had was a one on one match up with the last DB once he turned the corner. Instead, he slows down & runs right into the teeth of the defense. I was shocked. I don't care WHO replaces him, just replace him! Then, run the freaking guy, Garrett! Romo dropped back 66 times! 66! You don't win in this league calling 66 pass plays, Jason.

Replace Ogletree with Harris, Beasley, Holmes-I don't care. Whoever has earned it. Frankly, I like the speed & dependability of Harris. Put him in there & give him a shot. Give Bryant as limited a route tree as possible for the rest of the season, trade him just before the draft, then draft his replacement. Preferably someone with a brain.

Team leaders. Unfortunately, this team is lacking in that department although
Ratliff seemed somewhat up to the task.

This is a good thread topic, IMNSHO. It's something that's plagued us under multiple HCs, QBs, and OCs. And I don't really understand it.

I think more accountability is one thing. Demote Felix for fumbling. Demote Ogletree (last week) for drive-killing drops. I'd bench Dez for a series after every bonehead route, but we, unfortunately, are in short supply of WRs who know where they're suppose to be. I'd throw to Witten until the defense actually made me stop it, since he's one of the few player you've got who will be where they're supposed to be all the time. I'd run more two TE sets, because I think both Phillips and Hana have demonstrated they know what they're doing.

On offense, I think one of Garrett's problems is he's got a scheme predicated on taking advantage of what the defense gives you. This works great, as long as you have all of your options on a play where they're supposed to be. If even one of them does the wrong thing, and he's the option that Romo's supposed to exploit, it stalls a drive or leads to a TO. And we've got players in Ogletree and Dez who aren't always where they're supposed to be. It's sort of like the OL problem: you're only as good as your weakest link if you're going to play this way. You can get by with not relying on the best athletes all the time, as long as you're good enough to beat the defense's worst matchup one-on-one, but if that guy that gets the matchup isn't where he's supposed to be or isn't mentally tough, you're toast.

On defense, too, we're not getting the takeaways I'd like to see. I think that's changing with Rat back in the lineup. We're getting better pressure. Unfortunately, that coincides with us losing Lee, who's a player who gets turnovers for us. We're down a playmaking safety (yes, Church this season looked like a playmaker to me), but Claibourne looks to be turning things up a notch. I think we're going to see the takeaways on defense climb up a bit. It'd help them if our offense could ever let them play with a lead, too.
