How do we reconcile Dalton to the offense?

So if we assume the new offense is indeed different from last year..

Using the old terminology as 2019 but different plays as Big Mike has indicated..

Where does that leave Dak and Dalton?

At first glance Dalton has none of Dak's run ability or rollout option wiggles.

Dak does.

You can not prepare two different QBs each week to play.

Is Big Mike going to draw up two different game plans to be ready if Dak goes down?

Will Big Mike be more prone to pull Dak if he plays his typical slow start to games?

Will we see WR packages different based on the QB?

Would we consider alternating the QBs by series in order to see what is what?

Landry did this with Meredith and Jerry Rhome back when.

These are just some of my questions?

Would you rotate centers based on the QB playing? Same with TEs?

This Dalton creates a constellation of options when you consider it.

What are your thoughts?

You guys must already be thinking of some of this.

Comments?

Oh..BTW this is a Dalton thread..not a Dak thread.

He'll be the same as he was. It's not some exotic O that he's never seen before here, coming in.
Just get the cadence with the OL down, get the timing with his WR's, he'll be fine.
Could he be better than Dak?

No way to know at this point.

And NO! I would not rotate centers! The OL needs to gel man and the Center is the pivot point of them. Find him, put him in there and let it fly until it's flailing.

if big red is in there i'd expect more passing and less QB runs...although he can run...just not as well as Dak.

If it's a mid-game switch, I would expect some modifications to the play calling. I think that's pretty much standard procedure across the league. We didn't do that with our "Next man up" philosophy in the past, but we probably will from now on.

No team does. The starter takes all practice snaps. The backup is never prepared.

No.

No. (Your argument is that it's "typical" for Dak to start slow and get better as the game goes on. Were that true, why would they pull him when he has a slow start?)
Will we see WR packages different based on the QB?
No. (But if Dak goes down and Dalton starts games, yes, the offense will be adjusted.)
Would we consider alternating the QBs by series in order to see what is what?

I don't generally put a lot of thought into things that would never ever happen.

same as all the other players who switched teams or coaches this season.. they all are training virtually and being coached and tested via the internet with special programs.. its like a Madden training game...they are tested to call out plays and read defenses and what to audible..

its a challenge for all teams this season but teue ones who changed teams or coaches even more so,i trust vet players can adapt easily..its rookies like Tua and others who might stryggle more at first..thats why Dalton coming in was agreat move..settles the postion should dak hold out ..

True, but it was such a rare play, who cares about the play-calling for Andy as opposed to Dak as far as that is concerned.
It's inconsequential.
well.....i do.
i mean...if we're gonna have a QB pull it down and run it...i'd rather it be Dak....5.1 career avg....than Andy...3.5.
i dont think the pass plays change at all.
its the RPO's where we'd see a difference...more with #4....less with #14.
in my opinion.
we dont really know at all what this offense looks like....til we see it.
just doodlin'.

Do you see any other offenses around the league doing any of these things? Rarely, if at all..
