At this point in his young career, Julius has played in 25 games, and has an even 2200 yards rushing... that's 88.0 yards per game, which would work out to just over 1400 yards (1408, to be exactly) for a 16 game season... throw in 388 yards receiving on 54 catches, and you have 103.5 yards per game of total offense, or just over 1650 yards for a 16 game season...

He also has 14 TDs in that time, which would work out to 9 TDs per 16 games played...

I don't know about y'all, but if I had a back who could give me a consistent 1400 yards rushing, and 9 TDs a season, I wouldn't ask for much better... now, if he can just stay healthy for an entire 16 game season, he might be able to put this "bust" talk to rest...

I have doubted him, I never said he was a bust.

I think I would still like his brother, but his brother has much much more experience than JJ.

JJ is showing up, and I am impressed by him and can admit I was wrong to question his abilities.

But... he hasn't stayed healthy and he is certainly not consistent for that reason alone.

Dont get me wrong. I have been impressed with his performances thus far overall this season.

Seems like a good kid and love his work ethic. I wish him well 14 or less weeks a season.

At least the kinds of injuries he's had are exceptional and not the kind that should necessarily leave anyone to conclude he's injury prone.

consistent running and injuries is the only question mark.......JJ plays hard

A clean-slate for me as far as JJ is concerned this year. And those stats don't mean nothing, this year he's better then they state. He's just doing things he didn't do prior to this season, better. And I'd be surprised if most aren't noticing this also.

If he can stay healthy, he should have a very solid year.

And this considering the fact that our offensive line hasn't been that great the past couple of years.

This is really cutting down on our Barber vs JJ threads. I'm a little teary eyed.

I remembered always seeing how Portis' stats are always flicked up in his games, as to ypg, how he compares to some all-time greats. His 97 yards per game only 9 yards oer game ahead of Julius.

I really think, if Julius could have stayed healthy, he'd be recognized as one of the best RBs in the league by now.

No worries SP... the Bledsoe/Romo thing is really heating up, so we'll have our traditional tit for tat threads...

I loves me some JJ - always have, always will.

Wait till I email Terry and tell him of your betrayal. ;)

It's about to be squelched for a week.

I hope. :eek::

Only question I have had with Jones is his ability to stay healthy. The guy has very good talent but has not been able to play a full season in his 1st 2 seasons with us. I think if he can stay healthy the guy has a chance to put up some very impressive numbers this year.

This is JJ's year. 5 weeks in he's #5 in the league in rushing yards with a bye week. You can see his confidence picking up each week.

#1 in yards per game.

Lets see him finish the season before we anoint him anything. Thus far he has proved nothing.

I know 2 things

1. If JJ can stay healthy he can be one hell of a back. We still haven't seen that huge game out of him this year yet - but one is coming.

2. MBIII is a nice change of pace and a good 3rd down guy but he would not be effective as a #1 back. (Also I think he cost us a 3rd down conversion by tip toeing on 3 and short in Philly)
