How do you explain to the victims, and their families that the punishment given to Penn State has been changed, and lessened?

Who knows, I really do not understand, how a lot of those guys, are not sitting on death row. I really hope their "roommates" are having fun with them, at this moment.

Have to admit I thought the same thing. Wonder if the penalty would have been reduced if it had happened at, say, Louisiana Tech.

Because it does nobody any good to punish the players and fans who had 0 involvement.

This type of thing is so outside football itself that I'd say the football program never should have been suspended anyways.

In a case of child molestation, .. the raping of young boys, .. this change is really disturbing to me. Truly.

What kind of statement are we as a society making here?

The size and arrogance of the football program, is what enabled this atrocity to continue. It is unbelievable that it went on for so long.

Everyone that knew anything kept quiet to protect the Penn State football program. Period.
Whether that was one, two, five or ten people. People knew and did nothing. Evil.

Yea. Punish them, not the 20 year olds.

The sins of the father impact the children, ... the sins of those in authority cannot 'not' impact the rest of the football program.

Penn State had problems throughout the fabric of the program. It would not have hurt to wipe the slate clean and start over from scratch to rid the program of the stench.

It's not like it was paying a player or helping them with their grades.

Paterno is dead, Sandusky is in jail being Sanduskied for life, what became of the Penn State leadership and regents that knew? If they too have been dismissed and perhaps prosecuted then the guilty parties have been dealt with and the university has atoned.

How many scholarship players did USC have Saturday? How long has Reggie Bush been gone?

The victims are still victims, .. the victims still are in pain and still suffer from what was allowed to be done to them at Penn State.

The victims were little boys.

Not sure how we can forget that so quickly? Perhaps because it was not us or our family member.
