Ok, to anyone who plays around with this site, what's the trick to getting a really high score? I've messed around with it the last couple of years and can't get over about 8500, which isn't even near competitive with the best. No matter what I do, short class, long class, trade for future picks, package picks, avoid cornerbacks, stockpile cornerbacks, draft for need, draft BPA, all A grades within the class, I'm still scoring in the mid 8000s.

The only thing I can think of is maybe it rewards you for actually going through the mock pick by pick, but bleep that. I've got likes to collect.

I just did one today, 7 picks, 5 A+ grades, 1 A, 1 A-, wins that draft but isn't near the level of scoring I see on the leaderboard.

I'm about to start cracking my knuckles over this.

Don't get me wrong, I doubt any of you guys are saavy enough to score high yourself. I'm just wondering if maybe you knew a guy who knew a guy who maybe heard of a guy who did and exactly how.

Best I ever got is around the same 8500.

It has to do with what the teams needs are and the value you get not just the grades. One out of every 20 drafts will have a guy or two that really drop and you have to notice. Getting future picks helps but not that much and making a ton of trades doesn't help either.

You have to trade up as well as trade back.

2nd draft: Multiple trade-downs of just a few picks and then drafting based on best value available.

Your score is: 8716 (GRADE: A+)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 8 (MIA): Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State (A+)
Round 2 Pick 3: Eli Apple, CB, Ohio State (B)
Round 2 Pick 5 (BALT): Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Oklahoma State (A-)
Round 2 Pick 11 (MIA): Jarran Reed, DT, Alabama (A+)
Round 3 Pick 4: Alex Collins, RB, Arkansas (A)
Round 3 Pick 10 (MIA): Sheldon Rankins, DT, Louisville (A+)
Round 4 Pick 3: Braxton Miller, WR, Ohio State (A+)
Round 6 Pick 14: Kenyan Drake, RB, Alabama (A+)

Baltimore offered their first and 2nd to move up to 4. Then Miami offered #8, a second and a third to move up. After that, I didn't see much value in trading so I stayed put. I figured out after drafting Apple in the 2nd that I should look at the best value option and started using that feature.

That still isn't near the leaders. You have guys scoring 12,000 plus points. The only thing I haven't tried is actually going pick by pick through the whole draft. Not advancing to your next pick or even 5 picks at a time. But that would take too much time.

I traded down about 4 times before I made my first selection, but didn't make any trades after that. I also held on to both future draft picks.

You have to trade up, trade wisely and catch falling players while drafting according to their listed needs.

I can't break 8600.

My favorite First-pick move is to fall back a couple spots and still get Goff or Wentz.

Then I trade back up to top 20 with some of the extra picks and get Elliott.

And I still have a 2nd to get BPA on Defense.

I just noticed that if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the results page, it will show you how your score compared with other teams in the same draft.

In the last one I did, the Packers ended up with the highest score at 8088 and didn't make their first pick until the 22nd pick of the 2nd round. My score was 7432 which was 6th best.

I got 12,000 the very first time I used their site and haven't broken 10k since. I will try to pull it off again, I posted it a while back in one of the mock draft pages.

Edit: Ok I must be out of my mind. I thought I had scored that high, but browsing the leaderboards I guess I didn't. The best I have done was 8600.

After toying around with it, it looks like you have to balance what they say your "needs" are each round with BPA. If you ignore what they say your needs are you wont score well.
