Now since FA is mostly over. We added some solid depth to this team without breaking the bank.and guess what, Dez is still here.

For all those that got, or still getting your panties in a wad, are you straightening them out now?

Sure, we still need LB help, a S, big DT. But that be be obtained in the draft real easy. Well easy if the players fall to us the right way. But we still should be able to address them.

Yes the FO still has issues, or do they?
Other than having Garrett still here, but that may be an entire different issue for next off season. Maybe with a great draft the team can overcome that part. Play well enough to take those decisions out of the equation.

Anyway, what are your thoughts now? Be creative, don’t whine about your usual stuff. :D

I'll oblige you, Jazzcat, with as much of the "good stuff" as humanly possible. I think it's safe to say that our FO has surprised many of us with an honest effort to put the Cowboys in good position to have a draft that might serve their purposes well.

Their recent signings indicate they're doing all they can to maximize their effectiveness in the upcoming draft. I'm reasonably confident that they'll draft and sign one or two receivers with the talent to contribute to an otherwise pedestrian enhancement of our passing attack. Of course, the defense begs to be revamped and that remains to be duly enhanced as well. The OL might possibly be blessed with an OT and/or guard with starter potential as well.

We'll also predictably seek help from an LB and safety that should enable our defense to function better than it has in many years. Whether or not that's enough to satisfy the most demanding of us, I question. If it also serves to allow us to win enough games to encourage those of us who aren't overly demanding, I'll be eternally grateful. It's a process. :D

I'm happy with the recent signings, but they have yet to meet with Dez, so let's see what happens there, and also Marcus Martin in not the answer to LG.

i'll like the fo a lot better when jerry is no longer in the picture as the penultimate decision maker. dez is like the ides of march in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. here, but not yet gone. plenty of time to rid ourselves of dez. no way the fo can be judged until we see how they deal with wr, lb, safety and a run stuffing dt in the draft. they've plugged some holes in the dyke. but even the little dutch boy ran out of fingers.

This offseason reminds me of a Parcells offseason. We were usually pretty active under BP with free agents but didn’t go crazy until Jerry fell in lust with TO.

I see Marcus Martin strictly as depth, much needed depth.
Dez will be, as he has been the topic leading up to the draft. Good or bad, that will still be the topic.

I'd feel much better if we'd sign Boston, Reid or Vaccaro already.

If we could get Boston and Bowman, it would be really good. I am fine even Vaccaro too. ,aybe Ried, though some do not think he is a good fit, but if the team signs him, I will back the move.

Depends on how well these additions translate to contribution on the field. We won't know that until September.

The reasons I do not like our front office has nothing to do with this years free agency .......... it has to do with the last time I was able to celebrate a Superbowl was 23 years ago ......... which is half my lifetime.

Having a good free agency does not mean jack squat if you do not hire adequate coaches and then let them run the team without constantly interfering.

I agree with everything but Vaccaro. He hasn't lived up to his draft status. I prefer Boston or a rookie over Vaccaro.

Good points like always

They get a B-, C+ in FA. They had three big holes IMO - LG, MLB and DT. None of the three were addressed with the exception of LG if they do something like move Collins to LG and Fleming starts at RT.

That’s better than the Ds and Fs from previous offseasons so I’ll take what I can get.

Ok so tell me again what exactly great we did in FA? You said it yourself.......................we signed some solid depth. Ok..................so you proved the point.

Then you went on to list all the big issues we still have. The Cowboys dont use FA for starters. If you are happy with that strategy then ball all means clap it up.

This time they actually signed a few decent pieces IMO. Fleming, Hurns and Ealy.
I agree about the spots they haven't addressed, particularly MLB and DT.
A couple of solid vets there would be nice insurance going into the Draft.
Guys like Bowman at LB are still out there.
Surely a decent 1T? Vea needs himself a nice backup lol!

How about what I don't like about th FO? 0 significant playoff wins (occasionally make playoffs) n th last 22 years.
