I didn't start drinking coffee until I had graduated college and I've been hooked ever since. I like my coffee three different ways.

1st way:

Office-provided coffee is through their Flavia machine
Milky way latte with an expresso shot (ie, 1 milky way packet, 1 Kona Blend packet, and 1 expresso blend packet)

2nd way
Starbucks or other gourmet coffee shop

Grande caramel soy mocha no whip (The caramel allows me to get the coffee without adding sugar.

3rd way
Basic coffee from anywhere (Gas station, restaurant, home, etc)

Black with sugar

This thread inspired by my milky way latte in my favorite Durango & Silverton souvenir mug.

2 tea spoons sugar and a little cream. 2 cups in the morning and 1 when I get home. Nice to kick back with a nice cup of coffee to end my day.

The funny thing about me is I never drink coffee at home.

I keep Folgers instant in the house, but I only offer it to guests I know drink coffee religiously in the morning.

I use to drink a lot at work but get a bit too wired up. Now days 1 in the morning after taking a shower, 1 cup at work and as I said 1 cup after I get home

I drink my one mug of coffee which is the equivalent of two cups of coffee in the morning at work.

That keeps me going unless I have a late afternoon meeting and then it's almost a prerequisite to get another cup for the caffeine boost alone. But on that cup, I stick with the basic black and sugar coffee.

I despise late afternoon meetings.

And what is you day like without a cup of coffee? :laugh2:

For me it is the life blood that gets me moving in the morning without it my day is messed up. :laugh2:

I just go for the free stuff at work when I do have some. It's low-grade. Just a little bit of powdered creamer, no sugar. Delicious!! lol

I have a couple of friends like that. I usually don't bother them until the afternoon if I know they haven't had their coffee. lol

Fortunately, on the days I don't drink coffee, I'm working from home so I don't have to deal with external irritants, like traffic, co-workers popping up at my desk, etc. I wake up at mid-morning and I can allow myself to leisurely get my day going.

My Flavia coffee is only 60 calories. Of course, I'm not counting the sugar that I put in it, but it's not so much that it's a significant number.

My starbucks coffee is definitely calorie-breaker and I usually get that as a treat. It's generally around 300-400 calories.

I always drink my coffee black. I am not a real big fan of flavored coffees, never have been. Probably my all-time favorite is Dunkin Donuts original blend.

Many years ago I worked at Starbucks as a part-time Barista and learned quite a bit about coffee. One of the things I learned is that freshly ground coffee goes through a degassing process for the first three or four days after being ground and develops it's best flavor during that period. Having said that I never buy pre-ground coffee.

I have always preferred light or medium roasted coffees. Bold, full bodied dark roasted coffee is nothing but over cooked beans which contain less caffeine than light roasted.

I didn't know that.

That's an interesting tidbit.

I've always thought those dark roasted, overly bitter IMO, coffees were high in caffeine. I'd almost always get those if I thought I could get a bigger boost. Hmmm :
