How do you take your coffee?

Black home-roasted, home-ground light-to-medium roasted Peruvian coffee wih flavored stevia drops. Two or three cups or whatever it takes to get me to noon, then no more coffee. I never drink Cokes or other carbonated beverages except a little club soda in scotch on the rocks occasionally - less soda than whiskey.

Four packets of sugar and some creamer.

My grandparents drank coffee from morning to night so when I was really young (4-5) I'd fix sweet coffee to be able to drink my cup with them. I guess I never grew out of having my coffee like that.

In the AM, I go out to either Dunkin Donuts or Tim Hortons and get a refill on my extra-large travel mug.

-Extra cream
-Extra Splenda
-half regular/half decaf

I'll nurse that until mid-afternoon.

4 or 5 PM, I'll pop a K-cup into the K-cup maker (what a terrific kitchen gadget!), usually some type of "breakfast blend".

Then at night I'll get a 1/2 cup out of our regular coffee maker.

That's an interesting tidbit.

I've always thought those dark roasted, overly bitter IMO, coffees were high in caffeine. I'd almost always get those if I thought I could get a bigger boost. Hmmm :
Of course no one is going to refer the their coffee as being over cooked, but the fact is the only reason some coffee is darker than others is the amount of time it is roasted. That's not to say that dark roasted coffee doesn't have a pretty good amount of caffeine though.

On a side note I did a few french pressed cups of coffee for myself while at Starbucks and absolutely loved it.

That's how I've been making my coffee at home for sometime now and I love the flavor, body and the fact that it retains the oils from the coffee beans. I also have an Italian stove top espresso maker for a more concentrated shot of coffee. It's great if you like your coffee very strong.

On a rare day and an empty stomach, I may add < teaspoon of milk to reduce the acidity.

We have a whole bean grinder--which makes a real difference.

At home: Dunkin' Donuts Original Blend, brewed medium strong. Add half and half, no sugar. Sort of an inconsistent coffee drinker. I go for extended on-then-off cycles. Not sure why?

Haven't had a cup of Starbucks or the like in so long I can't remember the last time. Used to order lattes. Was only occasional, even when.

I tried to drink coffee when I was young for that same reason. My grandma used to drink it all the time and I'd try hers. She put cream and sugar in it and I didn't like it, at all.

This here.

I drink it black, 6-8 cups in the morning, nothing after that. Grind my own, get the beans (preferably) from a local company that roasts their own.

Didn't start drinking coffee til my mid-20s, when I had to start due to working nights. Did it for the caffeine alone for a year or two; then I started to actually like the stuff.

If I have to get commercial coffee, my preferences run to simple double expresso types. Though that is pretty bitter, so I'll go with a double Macchiato just to cut the edge.

I didn't drink coffee until I met my wife. She asked if I did, and I said I didn't because I thought it tasted horrible. She then said that's because I grew up with my parents' coffee, weak and peculated. Well, she was right.

I usually buy a really good French roast and use about one tablespoon per cup of water, the reason being less coffee grounds actually makes the coffee more bitter, contrary to popular American belief. Also, a French press is the only way to go for me.

After it's brewed, I give it a little heavy cream...yeah, heavy cream, just enough to smooth it out. Everyone's kind of surprised by that when I tell them, and they're rather doubtful about it...until they try it. Or, if I'm in the mood, I'll also add a bit of cocoa and splenda to make my own version of a mocha....not too much cocoa, though, or it will be bitter.

Speaking of coffee, it's time to make mine at work right now...

Half and half, no sugar. I get coffee at Peet's and use a cone & filter at home. Free coffee at work, so I just make sure I've got 1/2 and 1/2 there.

Oh, and the poop thing - me too.
