How do you think Igor is doing?

Swapping Canty's current salary for Igor's helped them to sign Brooking and re-up Ware. It may also help re-sign Austin longterm. When you add in the fact that the play at that spot has not declined and I'd say he's doing very well and the team has greatly benefited.

Im happy with the entire front 7. Including Igor and Spears.

Spears has been pretty good this year. Igor does exactly what we brought he here to do. Shut down the run. We have pass rushers in Bowen and Hatcher that come in during those situations. Igor is a beast against the run. Watch him and he continuously pushes his man in the backfield.

He's doing an excellent job of blocking out the sun. Not the pass rusher that Canty was, but he's doing everything else just as well.

cantys pass rushing stats from previous years including this one is nothing to write home about :)

Entirely better against the run than Canty, but really a non-factor getting to the QB or penetrating. It works because it's what we needed much of last year (a consistent run stopper) and for a fraction of what Canty cost.

Very happy to have him on the team this year.

Quietly the FO has made several very key moves this offseason. Not overpaying Canty and bringing in a blue collar rock like Igor to replace him is near the top of the list. He's doing a fine job.

Igor is doing very well... He's a cheaper and more reliable replacement than Canty has proven to be in NY thus far.

ok, not much in the way of rushing the passer, but that was never expected. cant say i notice him, which is good and bad in a way.

I definitely haven't seen him get uprooted as much as Canty did. Canty did a better job of getting loose in the backfield, but Olshansky holds his ground better. I'll take that trade-off.

Igor doesn't get any press which includes negative press.....so must be doing his job........

or else, I'm sure, we would of heard of him not getting it done...

so, way to go IGOR!!!!!

He's been solid at that. Physical player, just wish he would get to the qb more. But I understand that's not his main focus. Up to now I would give Canty a slight edge .

in what ?

Canty hasn't even been able to find his way on the field this year, bro. I'm not sure how you can give him an edge.

Canty was a pass rusher ? Which year ?

I said he was a better pass rusher than Igor, not a great one. He sure as hell hit the QB more.

I'm a Canty fan. I thought he was solid player for the Cowboys who did his job, mostly, although he'd tend to disappear in games against the run.

Having said that, Igor has not only matched the job that Canty did in Dallas ( in the 8 games he's played so far ), but he's surpassed it. Some of you may not have noticed it, but we are better against the run than we were last year and alot of the credit goes to Igor along with Spears, Bowens, and Hatcher.

Off the top of my head, I don't know if the stats back me up, but from plain eye sight, we are a heck of alot more consistent in that department. Since the first game against Tampa, were we didn't respect their running game and paid for it, other than two medium size plays, one by the Giants ( Jacobs - 31 yards ) and the other one by the Panthers ( Williams - 17 yards ) we haven't allowed jack.

We've allowed 823 yards rushing and 3 TDs in the entire season. Of those 174 yards and 2 TDs came in the Tampa game. That means in 7 games, the Cowboys have allowed 649 yards and 1 TD, including the 2 longest run previously mentioned.

Igor, so far, has been an outright steal. This off season, overall so far, has been simply outstanding in terms of producers: Sensanbaugh, Igor, and Brooking.

I'd like to see a sight that records QB pressures. I've seen Igor get close to the QB alot this year, but I can't prove it.

You and I both. Pressures and knock downs along with situational stats in that specific regard...
