How do you watch prospects?

Is there a way for the average fan to get film besides just looking on YouTube?

How do you scout prospects? Or do you just read what the “draft scouts” say about the players.

Skill positions are fairly easy to watch but how do you determine OL positions and off ball coverage based off YouTube highlights?

Watch full games not highlights.

No, there is not a magical vault that is going to have all the college film you’re looking for. YouTube is your best bet. Twitter/X will have some as well.

But yeah don’t watch only highlights. You’ll fall in love with every player

I would've looked like a 5 star recruit if YouTube highlights existed in 1987.

get as much game footage as you can; looking for the player you are interested in. Watch him on each play. ITs a lot of work; I usually only do it for a few that I am uncertain about. I watched Mazi and I thought he would at least clog the middle. He did not even do that in the pros. He is a case, I think, of someone that was able to get by on physical ability alone and could not learn technique that you need in the pros; or was not willing to put the effort into it.

I watch the full games makes my own opinions and gather a media scout consensus what they are saying about the prospect.

I like to watch games where the player you’re looking at is going against another good prospect.

Free way is to get creative and search specific things like (player) vs (team/player) or (player) all snaps.

You can also pay for caddys cutups which is pretty much an all 22 of every snap of that player

You can find plenty of older full game vids on youtube.
You might even find the games split into two halfs or other ways.
Point is you do not just have to look at the best of clips as they do not give the full picture.

Watching the games also gives a chance to see how a player does vs good competition they may face from a various team.

Here is the option to watch the NFL All 22 Films

https://pro.nfl.com/

But it will cost you a monthly or yearly fee.

Watch as much as you can on Youtube, read the reports from scouts I like and check out the consensus big boards.

Lacks lateral agility. Scouts told me.

Watching only "highlights" I pegged Trysten Hill, Taco Charleton, and Mazi Smith, as UDFA picks.
Yep - they all SUCKED and I’d like to kick old Marinelli right in his GD sack while wearing steel-toed boots. I hate that POS.

OK - my inner juvenile self got to me ……… I watch them with my eyes.

:laugh::lmao:

he could not even require double teaming
Filling the gap at NT isn't about size, it's about the ability to move quickly laterally to fill the gap. Mazi is strictly a "straightline athlete" which means he's great if the play is coming right at him. Here's the caveat, in the NFL the OC is constantly scheming so the play does not come right at you. Mazi was never going to be good at the NFL level.

he was not even that good when someone went straight at him. He never learned technique

Not sure I wanna know who was still available when we picked. I think Stevie Wonder could pick better than the clowns running this show.

A: With a complete lack of expertise.

I don't know what I'm doing, what to look for. I don't know which player attributes would benefit the Cowboys system, offensively and defensively.

...But I sure do enjoy messing around with that mock draft simulator.
