I feel like the best defense is just to not abandon your area of responsibility. That’s all the overstacking, motion, play action does.

That’s all that modern offense scheme is. Get the guy to leave his position and then exploit it.

Yes, there’s the chance that a play makes more yards if you hold your ground. But you prevent the big play on the misdirection. But what do I know.

Yeah, but weve been missing a lot of starters too, we didnt get an excuse and they dont either.

Wasn't SF missing something like half their defensive starters when they played KC?

Not an "excuse," just a straight-up fact. Those starters are back now, and their defense is much better for it.

I think what makes it tough is they will use the same formations but with different players in the package. One time McCaffery is lined up at RB the next Samuel is at RB and McCaffery is WR. SF has a lot of interchangeable parts with players who capable of playing different positions.

DQ has to take some risks and calculated risks. committ a lot to stop the run, which means leaving his DBs in an island at times. ensure they can contain McCaffrey and the swing passes to the outside. I think our LBs are fast enough to contain the edge. the key will be how to utilize Parsons, as he can get to the edge to contain, but then he is also your best pass rusher. I think we need to committ to stopping the run on first downs. force them into passing situation and then hope Parsons, Lawrence and Osa can create pressure. playing man is risky, so Safties come into play a lot. if we don't generate pressure, there could be big plays to have, but its one of those big reward, big risk situations. can they consistently make big plays. all we need is a few bad plays from them to slow them down and force them to punt. Wilson is going to play a big role, as he will be a big key in reading the offense and reacting, either help contain the runs to the outside, having to get through trash or dropping back to the middle and helping on containing kittle and Deebo. DQ won't know until the game happens and see how his players are doing. playing zone, is tough against SF, as they are very good at attacking the zone.
Honestly. I think they do what they did against Brady.

Show blitz, then drop back into the middle and rush 4. If the 4 create disruption, it’s over.

Wasnt directed at you, and i agree, but found it interesting our defensive decline was due to the same thing yet i dont really see many bring up our starters being out too.

Love Warner dude is a true master. San Fran offense is what you would expect. Designed to make things as easy on the QB as possible and create opportunities for the playmakers. IMHO if Dallas comes prepared for a long day of tackling we will be good. If not we are in for a long day. This is when you feel good about having guys like Wilson and Kearse on your team. This is when someone like Diggs scares you. This offense will turn a potential weapon like Diggs into a liability. I keep picturing him as the DB on the side where they run all the action and it isn't a pretty picture.

STOP THE RUN. watch the short outs... make sure mcaffrey has a bad day. Make Purdy have to try to beat us.

all else will fall into place.

How many points did the Saints have?
Point is we have that type of d and a better Offense..Point was, you could slow that 9er O and then go after that d with more talented roster. you trying to compare our offense to the saints? lmao. you haven't been paying attention. We are one the top scoring teams in the nfl and have solid defense to go with it. we have shot period.

recent history, raiders and Seattle games show the 9ers are not unbeatable and not always dominant, sure they should be respected but they are being overrated while we are being underrated. in the middle is 2 very good matched teams about to do battle.

So they can run multiple plays out of the same formations. I think moving guys around is just a way to get the defense thinking. Just focus on the play, not the players.

Much of that was the KC offense. The 49ers scheme does not work nearly as well when they're behind on the scoreboard...
This , getting a decent lead quickly will make them play from behind and make them use Rookie QB which can induce mistakes

They are the real no deal and the class of the NFC…..but in one game anything is possible….but not probable, unfortunately

they’ve built a great team out there on the west coast…..the city of San Francisco doesn’t deserve them
Well like the Cowboys aren't actually in Dallas, the 9ers are in Santa Clara.
