Absolutely. Sam Williams is starting because he was a second round pick. And this is part of the reason why our culture has been garbage for the last 30 years. Everyone knows that if you're drafted in the first or second round you've got a free check coming and a free starting spot most of the time. Jerry will be too embarrassed to cut you and admit he made a mistake. He'll admit that a decade down the line. Maybe.

Unless you're a backup tight end, which we've drafted four of those in the last 15 years. Then you don't have to do anything and you're guaranteed a job for at least 4 years. So basically being drafted by this team in the second round as a tight end is exactly like hitting the lottery.

I came here to post the same question. I agree 1000%. I watched Murray very close today. His play is horrendous. I would rather pull a player off someone’s practice squad than let Murray play another down. It’s that bad.
