Only interested in opinions and comparisons. How does Carl Nicks talent compare to our ex guard Larry Allen. Clearly Larry is one of the best but if you had a choice in the prime of there careers who would you choose? No homerism please. Lol

Larry Allen maybe the strongest guy to play in the NFL. Combine that with mobility to stand out at LT. Combine that with a nasty streak where he loved blowing guys up and rag dolling them. Nicks very good player. Even John Randall said he knew better than make Larry mad, wouldnt run his mouth around him.

I mean Nicks is a pretty good Guard, but in no way shape or form is he LA.

No comparison. Allen was one of the best to ever play the position.

Even as good as Nicks is

Larry Allen is here

Nicks is here

watch this.... you will be looking for #73. unbelieable athelete with a mean streak and super human stregnth....nicks ..not close

Going into his 5th season Carl Nicks has two pro bowl appearances, one second team All-Pro, and one first team All-Pro season. Going into his 5th season Larry had 3 Pro Bowls, one second team All-Pro, and two first team All-Pro seasons. But it really isn't that close and best at his position ever territory is an unfair comparison to hold Nicks to.

Nicks is one of the best OL in the game today. Allen is one of the best OL to ever play the game.

With that said. I agree Larry was a beast. I have a hard time over paying and getting in a bidding war for nicks

LA was a freak of nature. In his prime he was as much fun to watch as Troy, Emmitt, Michael, Jay and Moose.

LA was so dominant that the previous week DTs that would be trying to play him asked their teams to put them on the injury list so when they got completely owned they could claim they were injured.

No one who ever saw LA play in his prime would even ask this question

This statement you made was silly and has nothing to do with seeing Larry play. I've been a cowboy fan for 40 years and stated in my opening post that I realize Larry was one of the best of all time. Its nicks that I am not very familiar with besides all the info I read of him being one of the current bests og in football.
