How Does Our New Coaching Staff Rate Thus Far?

Could be better, could be worse. It might be a pretty good staff if we can somehow manage to steal a couple of assistants from SD.

I don't understand the Dat hire.

Great guy but any other assistant coach on the market has more experience than Dat. Seems to me he should pay his dues at a lower level rather than getting his first job with the Dallas Cowboys.

It makes me wonder if that's really a Wade hire. It's got Jerry's fingerprints all over it.

Other then Garrett and Wade, Im really not too impressed. Dat was a nice pickup for the feel good of it alone.....as far as him coaching, who knows so other then Wade and Garrett, Im not really that encouraged. Not discouraged either just floatin middle.

That is exactly how I feel.

I expected a bit more from Phillips due to the fact he has been around quite a while, but it seems we were able to get just as much out of Garrett and a coach in Peete we probably would have got if Turner were here. I am crossing my fingers on a quality defensive and special teams hire.

It looks horrible. These are all Jerry hires from Garrett to Dat, it's pretty clear Jerry is in control again.

None of the Asst hires have been "big gets" IMO. I would much rather have Nunnelly or Pagano than Stewart. We already have a defensive coach with DB coaching background in Bowles.

Assistant coaches, aside from being part of a winning program, rarely become household names in NFL fandom. The one exception to this may be Joe Avezzano in Dallas, who rose to cult status during the Super Bowl years. Hudson Houck was another asst. coach that became well known, because he had been around for so long.

Generally, assistants are just that, they carry out the plans and goals of the coordinators
