If we're not going off past performance, and strictly how we think they'll perform this year - I've got to give Dallas that no. 1 spot. Without question, I believe Romo will show himself to be a better QB than McNabb this year, and likely the best in the NFC unless Bulger has another outstanding year.
My thinking was that Romo has to prove himself with another good year. Remember how good Delhomme looked?
On top of that, I also took depth into consideration.
We have Brad Johnson and Matt Moore.
The Eagles have Kelly Holcomb, AJ Feely, and Kevin Kolb.
But I see your point.....Romo could easily overtake McNabb as the best QB in the East.
There's no way we can be ranked above Philly.
Hmmmm.....To each his own. Philly's top two RBs (Westbrook/Buckhalter)managed to rush for over 1500 yards and 9 TDs. Our top two RBs ran for over 1700 yards and scored 18 TDs.
Now, one might argue that Philly's backs had more catches....true...but our RBs aren't asked to be receivers as much. Plus, we had two WRs go over 1000 yards. That took catches away from our RBs....
I think the Giants and Philly have to be 1-2, and we'rea distant third.
Are you talking about the DL here?
If you are, then you may be right.....but consider that Philly was downright bad in run D (26th). Plus, their top pass rusher is coming off a major knee injury. Darwin Walker has left via FA...Bunkley and Patterson haven't really proved themselves.
The Giants may not have Strahan, and Osi is coming off injury. Their DTs don't really impress me either.
This may be my most homerific judgement....I really think our DL has more depth (at DE anyway), and we have a very good NT. Of course, it's hard to compare a 3 man line with a 4 man line....different responsibilities.
