I'm curious as how the supplemental draft works.
When do people have to disclose they are available?
I'm was just thinking about Luck and why he would not declare for the draft. I get the idea he may want to go back to school. And bully for him if that is what he wants. But he's going back and will not have his coach so he'll likely have a down year. Might he have stayed because of the uncertainty of the lockout? That may be resolved by the supplemental draft.
Then I started thinking about Steve Walsh. Does not declare for the NFL draft, but gets taken by his college coach in the supplemental draft who just got a NFL job.
If Luck came out in the NFL draft, he would go to Carolina, and his old coach, now with the 49ers, could not get him.
But what if Luck comes out in the supplemental draft? Does that increase the 49ers ability to get him?
I have a feeling if that happened, there would be a massive collusion investigation.
