if we have Lawrence, Irving (at 100%) for 16 games, Vea/Payne and Taco who was making big improvements at end of the year?

That would be on par with Carolinas front 4 in 04 that made the super bowl with Peppers, Jenkins, Buckner and Rucker.

Question is how big a difference does that make. Sure we can hold teams to 17 points or less but is that enough for our offense?

They need more than that. Counting on rookies to have an immediate impact is fool's gold.

They need to bring in a legit vet DT. And they need more pass rushers. For all the hype around Lawrence and Irving, the team finished dead in the middle of the pack in sacks and pressures. It looked great to us because we had sucked at rushing the passer in the past and this year looked awesome in comparison. But in reality........... they were mediocre.

This team could use 2-3 more high quality DL, at least.

Sounds like the 3/4th best line in the division to me. It's going to take YEARS of drafting hits to get to the level of Philly and New York, because while we're trying to suit up a dominate 4 they're working with a dominant 6-8
