How good are Cowboy going to be this year?

Can you then explain to me how Q/Gary/Thompson/Winters/Clark are not real talent? All are proven NFL players. We know how good they are. Massive talent infusion.

I’d actually be commending this FO right now if they didn’t fall into this position inadvertently.

You and I are in the same page with most, especially DT and S, two positions the Joneses figured it was fine to ignore for too long.

At DT they went from Osa and (take your pick) as the top two to QW and Clark. Both top ten in the league.

As far as safety, I realize it isn’t regarded as a premium position, but have bad ones and see what happens. I grew up watching Harris/Waters, then Thurman/Downs, to Woodson/Marion to Roy Williams and whatever else Jerry threw back there at the time, to Alan Ball and Jeff Heath. Disgusting.

Both positions were usually weak and the better teams/staff could usually exploit them at those spots.

Now, they’ve gone from Wilson and Hooker to Thompson and Downs in short order. Impressive.

For me it’s enough to not be constantly pissed off and/or maybe get some sort of an ROI out of this team. I don’t mind being Charlie Brown.

Not probable, but possible. Optimism is warranted. If one demands to “see it first,” well then it sounds as if they won’t be enjoying the ride, and good luck on there being a second ride any time soon if there’s ever a first.

I've seen Gary since he was a freshman at Michigan... Heck, I watched a lot of his high school tape. He's not a clear upgrade over what we had from Clowney last year. (In the 2025 NFL regular season, Jadeveon Clowney recorded 8.5 sacks, 24 solo tackles, and 40 total pressures. Rashan Gary recorded 7.5 sacks, 25 solo tackles, and 54 total pressures)

Locke and Durant are 1 year, depth pieces. Not upgrades.

LOL. No, I just looked at games. Gary played 653 snaps to Clowney's 372. So, about the same production on half the snaps.
