How good are Cowboy going to be this year?

I think the defense will improve to a degree people will be mildly surprised.

And I think the offense will regress compared to last year....and all if you who think that the offense couldn't possibly be any worse than last year, when everything worked out pretty good, will be reminded that NOTHING is a given in this league...and that fluctuations naturally happen.
Yea, it’s entirely possible the offense won’t be as good as last year. It’s difficult to repeat at that level every year not to mention keeping all the key talent healthy.

If Dak stays healthy, perhaps 10 wins, perhaps a WC win, but until we have a real NFL HC with full authority, it’s fool’s gold to think about reaching the NFC Championship game.
The culture with our dysfunctional ownership is always a concern.

And I’d caution others to set more reasonable goals in winning division or simply a playoff contender before setting sights on championship appearances without prior history.

People always count on PROgression but hardly ever consider there could be REgression.

I see more of a rebuilding/development year. Im thinking about 9 wins.

I personally believe in the karma the universe bestows upon us, and because of that I believe because of Jerry we are cursed and in for another let down. I do believe the team should be better obviously, but we just aren't good enough to overcome Jerrah's greed, narcissism and sins..
Greed, seriously?!

Are they going to be as good as the 12 win teams with McCarthy?

Or the Garrett teams in 2014,16 and 18?

Or is this more of a rebuilding and development year on defense and we should hold down our expectations to just contending for playoffs? Like with Parcells.

Or are we expecting even more with added talent on defense unseen in action?
They need to be Significantly better than those three 12 win seasons.

Easy schedules (per existing nfl criteria), made them a paper tiger that predictably folded in the playoffs.

Of course but do we or should we even expect this team to be better that those teams without even seeing what the defense can become ?

Realistically and, as usual, much will depend on the extent that injuries will play a role.

The Cowboys could conceivably take a hit or two. However, if it is at a critical position or if it completely decimates a unit then the team will not go far.

The greatest positions of concern is at QB and RB.

There are a few teams that can lose their QB and still manage to compete. The Cowboys are not one of those teams. They have practically nothing behind Dak.

If Williams goes down than the Cowboys practically have no running game, or at least nothing close to consistent. There is also the value of Williams as a receiver.

Jake Ferguson is above average in my opinion but if he goes down then the is a huge drop in the productivity of the TE squad.

It seems ironic that there appears to be far more depth on the defensive squad.

Anyway, the uncertainty of injury makes predictions rather difficult.

Yes it is a concern.
However they been pretty silent thos off season.
And it has been a good off season.

There really is not much they can do at this point to screw anything up.
Yes it is still early. But I don’t see Jerry meddling much going forward.

I do not expect any miracles. But I do expect improvement. And a playoff spot. Possibly even won the NFCE.
As I think Philly takes a step back.

I won’t say 12 wins at this point. But 10 or 11 is very doable.
Same offense, and with a better defenses and players and coaching. And just if they stay healthy for once can get 3 or 4 more wins.

That’s a lot to ask for. So what in your opinion would cause it to come up short of expectations?

Barring injury, I feel that this is a playoff team and potentially a Super Bowl contender.

Yeah, I said it.
I am optimistic this team will win 12 games and win the NFC East, the offense will average 31 points per game. The defense will improve as the season progresses to 12th in total defense and Dallas will be one of the top teams in the league. The Dallas Cowboys are a team on the rise with better talent and a much improved coaching staff on defense and a top 5 offense. Let the good times roll, Go Cowboys.

I think they will be improved
Like 10 and 7
And making the playoffs.
Some talking about superbowl appearances
Are just drinking the koolaid.
our defense was historically bad last year.
We added a few nice players there, but we still need more talent.

Injuries again.
Learning curve of the defense. How complex really is it. Will other teams have some knowledge of it. If based mostly from the Fangio style defense.
A step back from the offense, as DC's had a year to study film on the it, and how to defense both WR's and try to stop the run.

Combination of all of that most likely.
