Of course they would still be great, even greater with the way the league is now. In the era that we've been in since then, the Era of the salary cap, teams other than the Pats don't stay on top very long, don't keep their players very long, etc. You could have made two good defenses out of all that talent the Cowboys had on their roster on that team. They had reserves better than a lot of teams starters back then. I think they would be even more dominating today. Back then it was really either the Cowboys or the Niners in the NFC Championship. The Niners were stacked too. Look at the NFC this year- that 92 team would have killed any NFC team this year and not even be breaking a sweat. They would roll in to the Super Bowl and be beating this years NFC teams like they did the Bills in the Super Bowl back then- the games would be massacres.Would they still be a juggernaut in the current NFL?
Don't forget Jimmy Johnson and his staff. Arguably the greatest coaching staff ever assembled.Yes they would.
Offensive line was big and would still be great. Good luck playing Michael Irvin without being able to touch him. He lived in the middle on slants when defenders could light you up he would feast in there today.
Emmitt would still be great. Aikman would still be the most accurate QB.
Novacek still great.
Defense was fast would still be good. They had great depth. Woodson would be a perfect safety in todays game. He could play in the box and cover.
This team had alit of great players who wanted to win every game. They would destroy these teams today for the simple fact that free agency and ten cap don’t allow teams to be as great as that 92 team was.
That team could win 10 games just by running emmitt smith behind Larry Allen every play. I don't think Allen played in 92.
Great point. I wish the 90s Cowboys could have played the 70s Steelers, lol- I think you can do that on MaddenDon't forget Jimmy Johnson and his staff. Arguably the greatest coaching staff ever assembled.
Great point. A coach who did not tolerate a players dogging it with a perfectionist at QB makes a big difference.Don't forget Jimmy Johnson and his staff. Arguably the greatest coaching staff ever assembled.
If not for the Salary Cap being put in, and Jerry chasing Jimmy away- the Cowboys teams could have ruled the ENTIRE 90s, instead of petering out half way through. I think those early 90s teams were as good as any the game has ever seen. They dominated on both sides of the ball. That team was all time great and built to win in any era. That OL would maul any defense.
Rookie in 1994.Larry Allen was not on the 92 team.
I wish Alvin Harper and several other players never left. Harper disappeared after Dallas. If not for the Salary Cap being put in, and Jerry chasing Jimmy away- the Cowboys teams could have ruled the ENTIRE 90s, instead of petering out half way through. I think those early 90s teams were as good as any the game has ever seen. They dominated on both sides of the ball.
I think Harper signed a big free agent deal with Tampa to be their number one receiver and he wasn't cut out to be a number one.I wish Alvin Harper and several other players never left. Harper disappeared after Dallas.
NoOmg, 90s this, 90s that. People, please get over those 90s teams
Yes, so true. The Salary Cap being put in killed all three of those teams depth. All 3 were stacked and had such deep rosters. They had reserves better than a lot of teams startersThe Cowboys, 49ers, and Bills from 1992 are probably the best teams ever assembled. They were not only good but they were deep and well coached.
