How hard will the Cowboys try to sell us on guys like Mingo and Tolbert?

The Eagles Smith and Brown accounted for 135 receptions for a little over 1900 yards.

The Cowboys Lamb and Tolbert accounted for 150 receptions for a little over 1800 yards.

Only 13 of the 32 WR2s had more receptions than Tolbert. Tolbert had the same yardage as DeAndre Hopkins, more than Tyler Lockett, Chris Godwin, and Amari Cooper.

His 12.4 yards per reception is higher than DaVonta Smith, Tyrek Hil and even CeeDee.

That's good, but is he reliable as a Smith from Phi or some of the other guys not listed on here? He had 7 touchdowns, i'd be ok if he had less this season, but more yards and big plays when the ball comes his way

We used a 4th round pick on Mingo last season, they had a 2nd round grade on him during the draft years ago. We didn't see him get a lot of targets, but it still remains that they had a high grade, and spent a 4th round pick on him.

As for Tolbert, they're selling us that he had the most touchdowns for a WR on this team with 7 I believe it was. If he did 7 last season, just imagine (in their minds) how much he could improve, maybe it'll be 17!!

With that said, we obviously have a need for a WR #2 who can offset some of the attention placed on Lamb. Do you believe they'll try to sell us that we don't need a WR early in the draft because of these two players???? Please give your thoughts..

Remember to think like the Jonses!!
Tolbert played fairly well last year. He had 7 TD's and more yards per catch than CD. With a back up QB. Not sure what needs to be sold.

Oh please.......Stephen made it clear that an explosive #2 WR is a priority. Playing word games won't change that.....

Jones went as far as to say the team is "open to looking at a really explosive No. 2 that could upgrade us."
Lol,
“Open to looking at” doesn’t exactly scream priority!
That’s more if it’s there, and that’s the best option.

The Jones are open to everything. We hear that every year. Selectively unagressive, but they were open to Cooper Kupp, right up until they weren't.

No, I think they will take TMac, or Golden. If they don't then yes except to be told how good we already are at WR.

Regardless, we will be told that story, for at least 3 of these positions - WR, RB, OLine, CB, LB or DT.

So I really don't understand the point. We already know the narrative.

Yeah, I'm not going to be upset if they don't go WR early on. Tolbert will be better with Dak as QB. He's not great at short routes. He's more of an intermediate or deep threat.

I still think he has Andre Reed potential.

That said, Tolbert, McMillan and Lamb would give us one of the better receiver rooms in the league.

Always appreciate your posts, plasticman. That's interesting info. indeed. That's with having Hurts as QB vs Rush, an outstanding offensive line and Saquan at RB.

He had a quite be productive year and I would only assume it would have been better with Dak.

Yeah, were all familiar with the gaslighting. I guess it's fun to call it out in advance. It has become very predictable.

I do believe we'll get a WR and a RB.

They made a good point on the draft show podcast though, about DT. After extending Osa and taking Mazi, they may not bring in any real competition. They may end up counting on Mazi due to his draft status. I dont like it, but I could definitely envision that.

Well you could say the same thing about trading for a WR, a CB and picking up 2 RB's in free agency.

If we draft a WR early, why did we trade for Mingo? Just another dumb front office move.

Again we could have a good RB sitting there in round 4 and we don't have a 4th round pick because of a dumb unproductive trade.

I could be wrong but the "insiders" seem to believe there's no way we leave this draft without a RB. CB I could easily see especially since they acquired Elam.

Yes this FO always leaves plenty of room to question the intelligence of their moves.

I think we definitely take a RB. Where is the question and that is why we met with 11.
