How has Williams looked so far?

It's funny to me how Malik Davis just keeps earning his role as the RB2 for this team imo.

When I watch his steady yet not spectacular performances, its like hes pretty good at almost all RB things but not quite great at any of them. Yet I still prefer him well above either Blue or Mafah.

Yeah, maybe because I'm not a Texas fan, nor do I watch college football oustide of my school, I get he's fast as hell and i hope he lives up to potential, but I dont get the hype....we need to get him to Tiki Barber and solve the fumble issue lol.

Totally agree on Malik...its interesting.

Not much has been said about Williams in TC but if they never mention his name I wouldn’t worry about it. They want him fresh and injury fee in September. He’s probably not in the evaluation focus like the younger guys.

Guys like Mafah and Blue NEED the most reps and I would even say be careful about any hype said about them in TC or in PS games. Glad to hear they are getting the reps and hoping it’s not just hype. Blue has had flashes but he also fumbled vs rams the scrimmage - his biggest weakness in college. And one of many reasons why he didn’t play much last yr.

It’s entirely possible one of those guys get cut. Not saying they will, but Williams will be the workhorse going into the season. But he will need help as any NFL back nowadays does.

Stay tuned. I don’t think our backups at the RB position is entirely settled.
I’m looking forward to seeing how Mafa and the other RB’s will do on Saturday night.

He's one of the few players I don't fear regression from. He seems to be a guy who always shows up with his lunch pail. But yes, I don't expect to see him until East Rutherford.
Most touches he has ever had in a season. You can sometimes see a drop off the next season.

I posted this elsewhere but the number one problem this offense faced last year was a poor rushing attack in the red zone. Javontae and Klayton have to solve that or the offense will not be as good as it should

He should be...I don't care what people say....He hit a wall last year...Lost his explosiveness around week 13.....that last month was pretty painful to watch. Maybe he was mailing it in because he knew they were out of the playoff race....but he sure wasn't the same after the Detroit loss.

Do you not watch football? He ripped his knee to shreds and was completely ineffective for a couple years after in Denver.
Significant injury history implies he’s had many injuries. Which he hasn’t. He’s had one major injury.

“Major” is an understatement.

His knee injury was catastrophic and the worst possible for a running back. It’s known as a “career killer” and for those few who have come back, they deal with the joint being at significant risk for the rest of their career.

It’s the one that ended Terrell Davis’s career, among others.

Willis McGahee and Nick Chubb are pretty much the only success stories and Chubb eventually destroyed the compromised knee again and is now out of the league.

Adrian Peterson had a similar, but less serious example (he jsut had the two tears), but he was a miracle.

It’s amazing that Williams came back. He’s incredibly fortunate.

I wouldn't expect to hear much. They are going to likely bubble wrap him this TC.

That being said, I fear a regression with him this year.
I think the only regression would come from injury.

Blue has the possible potential to be an impact player. We don’t know yet.

Davis is a solid RB2 behind Williams.

Not sure if they’d cut Blue and give up on that for the sake of keeping Davis AND Mafah, plus the most likely one to clear waivers is Mafah, so that’s probably the answer of no one else is brought in.

Let’s all hope Blue shows something earlier on the in PS
Blue has uber speed. 4.3x 40

He just needs to play football.

He does have small hands. Maybe ditch the gloves.

I have no idea what his issue is. We have seen so little of him. What we have seen of him with the ball in his hands looks pretty good to me.

He is a smaller key to the season. It’d be nice to have that luxury in the backfield but not extremely essential like LT or the younger pass rushers.

And then unproductive after that.

Nobody wanted him. We got him for nothing on the hopes he might be decent enough to get by for a bit.

He was outstanding, and it shocked everybody.
