How has Williams looked so far?

Javonte is still young...he has been injured but I don't care about the past..he looked good last year. Anyone can get injured and I don't think Javonte is any more prone to injury than anyone else.......

Nobody wanted him. We got him for nothing on the hopes he might be decent enough to get by for a bit.

He was outstanding, and it shocked everybody.

Except me.

2 years removed from knee surgery is about when a player fully recovers. He was very good as a rook, then got hurt. Looked slow for DEN in 24.

I was psyched when we got him, thought he'd easily be the best RB we've had since EZ. Hope the little nagging injuries don't derail him.

Yeah that doesn't make sense. He's recovered from his surgery now, exactly why would he regress?

Not much has been said about Williams in TC but if they never mention his name I wouldn’t worry about it. They want him fresh and injury fee in September. He’s probably not in the evaluation focus like the younger guys.

Guys like Mafah and Blue NEED the most reps and I would even say be careful about any hype said about them in TC or in PS games. Glad to hear they are getting the reps and hoping it’s not just hype. Blue has had flashes but he also fumbled vs rams the scrimmage - his biggest weakness in college. And one of many reasons why he didn’t play much last yr.

It’s entirely possible one of those guys get cut. Not saying they will, but Williams will be the workhorse going into the season. But he will need help as any NFL back nowadays does.

Stay tuned. I don’t think our backups at the RB position is entirely settled.

To me it's Williams/Davis/Blue and Mafah is the odd man out. And it wouldn't SHOCK me if Izzy is the 4th RB bc I think he is more advanced right now than those two rookies from last year but we shall see.

Man, as a Longhorn fan I've been rooting for Blue, but I've seen nothing that suggests NFL RB. Based strictly on one preseason game, right now it's Williams/Davis/Abby. More to come, however.

BH, brother, you and others are not being fair towards Blue. The play he supposedly fumbled on during the Rams scrimmage was very late. The play was already called dead before Blue supposedly fumbled the ball which he immediately recovered back himself. That was after a 7-8 yard run pickup right up the gut. It wouldn't have counted anyhow since there was holding called on our Oline, so that run was coming back.

Yeah I agree. Also want Blue to workout and excel in a Pollard like role. And I have seen him have explosive plays last year but it’s like he needs the game to slow down more to get some confidence.

I'm starting to think he's one of those guys who's really fast w/o pads, but loses too much speed when the pads go on. Not sure yet.
