In no way can you judge a draft pick at Any position after pre season and one game, and most positions not even after one season

From what I have seen so far, Det's Abdullah looks to be a serious candidate for offensive rookie of the year. I think Abdullah may be the best RB in the draft, better than Gurley and Gordon. We shall see.

It's one game, but Abdullah looks quick and strong. I wasn't as impressed with Gordon and Gurley is still rehabbing.

Abdullah's hype reminds me of Gio Bernard a few years ago. Bernard had a great rookie season but his coaches always knew he wasn't an every down back.

As far as the rookies? I believe Abdullah and Coleman are the only ones that have been productive. The Commanders rookie back had a good preseason.

It all depends on how good their oline is. When was the last time San Diego had a good running game? Therefore Melvin Gordon isn't going to put up huge numbers. Doesn't mean he isn't a better overall player than Abdullah.

We will still hear about not getting a RB all year. McFadden can get 100 yards the next 5 games, and all we will hear, is he will get injured soon.
I won't say any of these RB's aren't living up to expectations, as most think they will be the next Emmitt because we didn't drsft one...LOL...but they all can go on to be successful. Just may take some time for most of them.

I want to see what Michael can do behind our OL. Though he will still need to learn the playbook better as he goes. but if it is true, a RB either has it or he don't. We should see some signs of something that he will do well here.

What's it going to be then, eh?

When it is said and done, Yeldon will probably be the back at the top. Not sold on Abdullah yet but he looks very good how the Lions are using him.

I was hoping they would have drafted Yeldon. Wanted defense in the first 2 rounds, and thought Yeldon in the 3rd.

Im betting on Coleman. He had a solid day against a very tough front 7

Abdullah has some fumble issues. If he starts putting the ball on the ground he could see his snaps greatly reduced

Ive said beforw Michael is a better prospect then anyone we would have gotten after Coleman and a case could be made that he is as good or better of a prospect then Coleman, Yeldon and Abdullah

The problem with Abdullah was that he had one of the worst ever fumble rates coming out of college.

In week 1 he had 1 fumble in 11 touches on offense.

Yeldon would have been great behind our offensive line, similar cutting style to Murray but probably not as powerful. But the player I still think we missed out on is Buck Allen. I won't be surprised if he surpasses Forsett at some point this season.

The problem is that Abdullah had 1 of if not the worse fumble rate ever for a college RB with 1 fumble per 35 touches.

He has managed to have and even worse fumble rate in the NFL after 1 game with 1 fumble in 11 offensive touches.

He might resolve the problem and turn out to be a good player, but the risk of drafting him was very high. A sustained 1 in 35 fumble rate will get you booted from the NFL very quickly.

Gurley's fumble rate was 1 in 180 touches.
