Hope and Faith

At 3-8, it's silly to have a lot of faith in something happening that we haven't really done this season. But hope, man, that comes cheap. And the fact that the rest of the NFCE sucks drives down the price.

I think I'm different from most, though, that I'd be happy if we somehow unexpected won it. A lot of fans seem to be pretty 'who cares?' about that possibility because it looks very likely we'll just get crushed in any hypothetical postseason match up. But so much changes in a month in the NFL. I'm ok just hoping we win this one and seeing if it can lead anyplace.
I just don't want the offseason to start yet. It sucks so much as it is, I see no point in trying to hurry it up.

We easily have the best team in the division and have absolutely no business being in or finishing last in the division with or without Romo.

I disagree with the 'without Romo' part, because QB is such an important position. You don't win many games where you're throwing pick-6s, for example. But, yeah, the rest of our roster ought to be better than the rest of the rosters on the other NFCE teams.

Anyone else feel like the Cowboys are going to win tonight? Record goes out the window with rivalry games.

The teams are evenly matched. The QB situation gives Washington a slight advantage. But no result should be a surprise.

Will be cheering but would like to see Turbin get a chance and see if Jones can shut down another elite TE. Still the skins! Hate the skins! Agree with ya Fletch but go cowboys!

It's points like this is a season of hell that separate those that say they are the biggest Cowboys fan you'll ever meet from those that actually are. Win tonight and we are one game out of first place. For those that were saying it a half a season ago, you can now legitimately say it... this is a must win game. I remain pumped from a late season run for no other reason than, those are my Cowboys. Beat the Skins!

Admittedly, I started getting sucked back into the excitement of another chance at getting a win in Washington that would ultimately culminate into a winning streak to finish off the season. The idea of playoffs danced around in my head. Then reality set in, and then frustration followed by a numbness to our ineptness.

So thinking ahead to our matchup against the Skins, that thought of getting out of Fed Ex with a satisfying win has completely left my line of thinking. I think we'll look competitive for maybe a quarter before the eventual collapse. The Commanders will adjust, we won't. The Commanders will begin to wear down our defense. Alfred Morris will begin to break 10-15 yard gains in the second half. Cousins will start to look sharp with quick, intermediate throws before finally finding DeSean Jackson for back breaking gainers.

Obviously the Commander's D will be fired up and passionate. There will be little to no room to run. Cassell will be hurried and sacked from the second quarter on which means we're going to see a lot of dump offs to the RB's and 6 to 7 yard passes. Prepare to watch our team in a lot of 2nd and 10's & 3rd and 15's. Most likely we're not going to be able to get out of our own way.

I've seen this movie play out way too many times this year to get sucked back in. We're stuck in the mud people. Even if we do win, the Packers are going to possibly make this team lay down and quit like they did on that fateful night at Lambeau when we had Wade Phillips back in 2008 or whenever it was.

I think the thing that kills me the most is that this was suppose to be THE season. That Packer's game was supposed to be a heavy weight battle for redemption and NFC supremacy. Sigh.

The silver lining to this nightmare of a season is that at least the draft will be fun to watch. We'll be the toast of the town in Chicago and we'll get to add some nice talent to an already young team.

So cheers my friends. Try not to get too worked up this Monday night. It's just a bad dream that we won't wake up from until after game 16.

Did someone hack your account? I'm surprised to see this type of post from you. You're absolutely correct on all points, just surprised to see it coming from you.

34-10 Skins

The only players on the Cowboys playing hard tonight are the guys auditioning for other teams. And the game won't be as close as the score.....

As disappointed as I am with season, Tony's career and the last 20 years... It's always better when we win!

My opinion is that the Cowboys go into this game with not much confidence(or perhaps it's my confidence in the team)and thus will not play with the emotion it takes to overcome the deep hole they need to climb out of.

It seems that this team has followed Romo's lead for all these years that they seem lost without him and cannot focus on playing quality level NFL football. When you lost your leader in any team sport and cannot win just one game without him, questions start to creep into the minds of the players that they just cannot compete, and that is what I think I might see tonight.

Now, if by some miracle of chance, the Cowboy go into the game and totally dominate (which again I don't think they can or will)...it might change my way of thinking, but from what I have seen, it does not seem like that will happen.

Let's say that the Cowboys squeak out a win by 3 or 7 points, it changes nothing. What I would love to see is the Cowboys go into this game with a vengeance trying to save their "manhood" instead just going through the motions with the mindset that all the past losing is just the way the season has gone.

But, beating a team as bad as Washington by a few points is not going to make much of a difference...it's just fluff. BUT...if they somehow go to the game and dismantle Washington in a beat down...maybe, just maybe they might be able to come home with their big boy pants on once more and gain some confidence, theirs and mine, for the game against the Packers. Either way...talk about Washington being bad all you want...but, they are no slouch and are playing pretty damn hard lately...and the Cowboy are in for a fight!

My prediction....

Washington = Holly Holmes
Cowboys = Ronda Rousey

Don't be Ronda Rousey you Dallas Cowboys!

I hate the Commanders but I can't get my hopes up. It makes it hurt that much more.

I want to win before I get back on the playoffs bandwagon.

Got a gut feeling the Cowboys will pull off the win tonight. My problem with that is simple, they go on a mini run and win 2 or 3 games. What happens then, a lower draft pick, and a playoff appearance (one and done). This is a bad football team...a team that has been exposed, a team that needs help. Muddling through to 7-9 or 8-8 is just so typically of the Jerry Jones ERA....would of, could of, and should of,...is the story of the last 20yrs. Yes, anything is possible....but sometime you can win by losing.

My feeling is this - we are going to win, period.

Those things and winning are mutually exclusive. They can help us win.

For me, 3's are wild.
There are 3 hours a week where I am hoping Dallas doesn't go 3-13.
