How important is OC Kellen Moore

All depends on the HC. If MMis gonna run the offense, Moore won't be more than a secretary. If MM is gonna allow him to run with it, them he is VERY important. I would hope that MM let's him run with it while he retains right to change plays and or game plans.

I agree but, I was told MM loves him.

I usually stay away from the "most" important, too many ways to lose a game even if he does everything right. There's no doubt he has the most talented unit so it is very important that he is on his "A" game. But for us to be successful the other coaches must post a passing grade as well.

Early in the season, the offense looked very different then we have seen for some time, lots of motion and deep shots. My biggest issue with Moore was he got away from the run way too often, even when it was working. With more experience, he will only get better as a play caller. Having MM should only help him moving forward.

In most systems. Believe me, some are just handing a friend a title
The thing that pops out to me..

none of these hires is considered tops in their areas.

These guys all are not up and comers.

They have played on Big Mike's staff..

drifted off to other staffs and were not shaking any trees.

Then they reassemble under Big Mike again.

So we have lots of unknowns with this group.

As we know, wearing the Star does not make you anything more than well paid.

It does not mean success.

This first season under Big Mike is a shakedown cruise.

Nothing more nor less.

McCarthy is trying to see if he still has the Golden Touch.

I think he does but we have to see how much was Farve and Rodgers.

For all the excitement about Dak signing his Tag...

Dak has a tremendous hill to climb.

The pressure is on Dak..not the coach like it was with Garrett last year.

Jerrah removed that pressure from Dak before the season even started by not extending Garrett.

Jerrah has also removed pressure from Dak by resigning their FAs.

Plus drafting Lamb.

Now if Dak cannot win with all of this..

why sign him to a long term contract for record money?

Double space to make it seem longer. I used that truck in college, didn't work!

Kellen Moore is the most important Cowboys coach

The offense may have to carry the team in the early going, and the second-year OC has to make that happen.
Everyone knows that I am a big fan of Kellen Moore as a quarterback, and so I hope to see him succeed as a coach. And he will.
But Mike McCarthy is the most important coach on the team. He must set the tempo and instill a philosophy that allows his coordinators and assistants to succeed.
No more of "Let's try this".

We've been told that Moore is a football genius...just like Garrett. We never saw Garrett's genius, hopefully we will see Moore's now.

the biggest growth I want to see in this offense is KM using Pollard and Zeke HEAVILY in the pass game.. ridiculous we have those weapons' just sitting there idle in gams where we were within 10points and post with lack of scoring etc..

when you no longer have a HOF stud at TE you need the RBS in the pass game to make up for it and we have TWO Rbs that are weapons in pass game..unfired bullets in a lost war is a good reason we were 8-8 last season..

Hard to know how much Garrett restricted him last year. Of course, Moore was calling the plays, but Garrett had approval over game plans, and naturally could direct how he wanted the OC to approach game planning.

Right. When Garrett became more involved with more at the end of the 2018 season what happened? Our passing was more effective. Garrett involved with helping the game plan in 2019, results were career years for Dak in yards and passing TD's. Maybe it was garretts influence and system that made Dak what he is today.
