I saw parts in various threads but not an individual thread about this, apologies if it is a repost topic.

But can we start to tap the breaks on Red? I love the guy as much as anyone, but let's be realistic. Can't we attribute any real progress in this offesne to the maturity of Romo, the healing of TO's hand, the aquisition of Bigg, and the growth of of our young team as a whole? Obviously the huge hole we overcame was Terry Glenn not being there, which is huge.

But I just think people are so quick to jump on the hot new thing. I wonder how much Sparano is responsible.

Look I hope heis our head coach in waiting, but he isn't catching the heat I feel he should for the past 5 games.

Anyone agree or am I crazy?

No, you're exactly right. He deserves some credit for the loss and the late season collapse.

You better get out of dodge but yeah, I agree. This team has gotten better just from some getting more time to get better.

Yeah but who wan'ts to see that. I was stuck in the parking lot for about an hour and a half after the game. The stupidity flying around was priceless.
It actually had me and my wife laughing.

I was waiting for a burning stuffed Romo.

The puzzling thing about yesterday, as far as Garrett is concerned, is why they didn't call more screens, slants, and shorter routes once it became apparent that the OL could not give Romo more time.

Having said that, the plays that were called would have been successful had the players been able to execute. Had Romo hit TO, had Crayton caught the ball and ran through his route, and had Romo had enough time to hit Austin deep we would not be having this conversation.

Scratch the last line. There's one right on page 1.

Garrett is taking his hits...and he should be.

Basically, what Garrett did was play the Giants game. He slowed the game down. Gave us less possessions. That's exactly what the Giants wanted. There was no way they were going to win a shoot out. Ya just had to know, 38 total points scored by both teams was going to favor the Giants.

They were playing with Mo, Larry, and Curly in the secondary...and we ran. THEN when we did pass, even though the running game was doing quite well, we used very little play action.

We also did NOTHING to slow the pass rush...screens...draws...

But make no mistake, this was a total team collapse.

Yep. I think if we would have won this game, Garrett would be as good as gone for one of the head coach positions.

But between this, and the Offensive collapse over the past 6 weeks, and he's not going anywhere.

Sparano will leave, simply because he's a Parcells guy, he's being targeted by Miami, and the impression is he does not run the offense. Garrett does.

Why we don't use Austin on short slants is a mystery to me, or any other receiver for that matter. He's #3 on my list for blame, maybe he should be #1...

Agree, and sorry for missing the old posts, I'm at work and trying to squeeze my anger/love/frustration in between not getting fired ;)

I wish we would have attacked deep as well early. I thought we would send Witten deep down the seam more when Fasano was in there. At times we were too conservative on our line blocking, sometimes stacking our o-line too much, sending out only 3. That's a tough living for Romo.

JG is too pass happy for my style. We had 125 yds rushing in the first half, and like 25 in the second.

It's hard to attack deep with 2 WRs not at 100% (I don't care what the reports said, no way were they 100%) and once protection breaks down it's impossible to attack deep.

That is not an excuse. That's true of any football team.

the plays where there to be made the players didn't make them the o line break down pretty much kills any hope of anything working. If anyone should catch heat for this it's Sporano but i doubt he cares
