Has anybody heard anything?

He was held out of practice yesterday after the violent helmet to helmet collision with Battle the previous day.

He has already had head injuries in the past. I don't like the sound of it.

Well, he's not playing tomorrow, so it could be in worse shape than we thought. If a Jackie Battle hit can knock him loose, I'd hate to see the effects of a real player.

A day after Ken Hamlin got "dinged" at the end of Monday's afternoon practice, the starting free safety said he felt fine, though he was held out of practice for precautionary reasons.

"Felt good," Hamlin said. "I mean, I probably could have practiced today. I was able to, but I'm watching them go through it."

Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips said Hamlin's situation is being treated similar to linebacker Kevin Burnett's, who missed nearly a week after a blow to the head. Although Phillips said Hamlin might miss the Cowboys' preseason opener against the Colts at Texas Stadium on Thursday, Hamlin's absence is not a certainty.

"We hadn't ruled him out yet, certainly," Phillips said. "But when they said we're going to treat it similar to Burnett, it's a possibility he'll be out. I'd like to see him, but we've got three more preseason games."

If Hamlin does sit, Pat Watkins, who split time with Keith Davis at free safety last year, will get the start. But even if Hamlin is on the bench, he's already made an influence on his replacement.

"It's been real good to have Ken Hamlin here, because Ken's a little more vocal," Phillips said, "and I think Patrick's learned a lot from that."

I'd rather have Hamlin sit an extra day now rather than risking his cranium during just 1 preseason game, there is still a month til opening day.

He'd likely have only played a quarter at best anyway. Courtney Brown needs to use this opportunity to make the team

He was also on Spagnola's show (Tuesday) and said he felt fine. Said he only stumbled cause he got up too soon. I think Wade likes to play it safe given his head injury a year ago (and NFL new concern about concussions) & Hamlin didn't lose anything by not playing Tuesday. He probably going thru the walkthru today just like rest of team. Would expect to see him back in pads on Saturday when rest of team begins first workout in the heat at VR.

I'm starting to love Hamlin, he sorta reminds me of Keyshawn, a player I generally did not have too much good to say about before he became a Cowboy, but once he put on that helmet, the attitude and teamwork he displays just makes me love the guy

If Hamlin brings the fire and commitment that Key brought, he will be an outstanding addition.

A blow to the head is a blow to the head...just because it wasn't Roy Williams or Urlacher laying the lumber doesn't mean it didn't hurt.
