This makes no sense to me other than maybe they were hoping the doctors and Beard were going to keep it quiet in case he improved.

And frankly, if I was Jerrah with the new CBA..

I would have waited and found the best smoke I could buy and give it to Beard and see if he could not just play medicated..you know..

IMHO, there will be two camps...
1)One will believe either the organization mishandled the situation because they’re bumbling fools, or the player was just a selfish prick with a flawed moral compass,
2)The other says he recently decided this because he had a recent health relapse that told him he could not return to his previous level.

Everything I’ve ever heard or read about Big Fred says he’s a smart man of integrity, and despite Jerry’s history of meddling and mistakes and the Cowboys’ long Super Bowl drought, the organization is NOT a fly-by-night.
