We need more speed at the running back position. I'm anxiously awaiting his return. No idea what the ETA is on his return.

Haven't heard, but I was mentally thinking this week. We could use him.
I'd especially like to have him back for this week as a counter-balance, of sorts, for Reggie Bush. No, I'm not saying he's Reggie Bush (not that Bush is all that, anyway), but it'd be nice to burn them with a few big-ish plays on dump-off passes to the back out of the backfield to give them something else to worry about. I especially would like to see him on 3rd downs now that we're also using Beasley more regularly in the lineup. At some point, you're going to be having teams doubling Beasley on those third-and-shorts, and things should be spread out nicely for another player who can handle the ball well in space.

if he can hold on to the ball

Well Tanner and Murray have had issues with fumbling too. But we need his speed to the hole. I would like to see him get a shot. He's clearly the fastest back we have and probably the most shiftiest as well. The running is clearly lacking speed.

i was happy with what Randle was able to do when given the opportunity. i'm pulling for him to continue starting while Murray is out.

Bryan on talking cowboys just said he is now doing some running.

OMG, i cant wait for his return, im all giddy like a school girl, he brings so miuch to the team. I heard the remaining defense coordinators on our schedule are straight up FEEAAAAAAAAARRRING his return. Hes so awesome. Once hes on the field, hes going to light up that defense. NFL network has been doing around the clock coverage on his return. Once that happens, oooo son, we are owning that 1 yard on the field. Cant wait.

I really do not see out RB as the issue as run blocking as a line is the problem 4 out 5 of our linemen are more suited man on man blocking. They do not move well enough for the zone blocking. Our guys get there almost and the defense kills the play. I also believe that a lot of the creativity is taken out of the RB hands, they are to run to the hole and maybe look for a cutback but all I really see is a lot of pile driving.

Dunbar when he wasn't fumbling every touch he got was just as inept as the rest of the running game. His speed means nothing if we cannot run block.

RS I was quoting your post because many here they will not see your sarcasm.

Garrett said Lance Dunbar, who missed the last two games with a hamstring injury, should practice and be available this week against the Lions.

If Dunbar's able to show that he can hold onto the ball, I think he's a guy that could flash with some big plays in this offense. Never a key, go-to type player, but a nice supplemental threat. Really quite ideal as a change-of-pace back.
