I think Luepke will over McKeon (another UDFA) because of what he brings to the table. I think we'll see him as a fullback who can block and catch as well as McKeon (at the very least) and a short-yardage back.Agreed. I won't be surprised if we see just one UDFA player make the roster........or none.
One of the receivers might also stand a chance. We initially kept Houston on the 53 last year, but he didn't step up after a strong preseason campaign and ended up on the PS. Truth is, when you get down to the fifth and sixth guys, it's not like we have proven players there. The UDFAs are going against Fehoko and Tolbert for those spots.
Quinn has praised Land, but I think he starts out on the PS to be developed. Bass might too on the offensive line. The 16-man practice squad, plus the modified rules, makes it easier to keep your UDFAs and some vets there. Generally, unless you are really concerned a team might poach one of those players when they are waived, the PS is usually the way to go to see if they can develop.
