By waiting another year instead of coming out last year?

The big change was the year after Bradford came out.
The difference between Bradford (or Stafford) and Cam Newton, for example, is enormous.

There's not much change from Newton vs Luck. The only think Luck lost was that he will prob get to his second contrat a year later.

Bradford= 6 years, 78 mil (max 88 mil) and 50 million guarnateed!
Newton = 4 years 22 mil, all guaranteed
Luck = 4 years 22.1 mil

Thanks for clarifying this..I guess I got my years mixed up

Those old rookie contracts were obscene. Best change to come out of the NEW CBA by far.

This is something I pretty much agree with. Make rookies establish their careers first, or have them make good arguments on how well they can perform at the professional level at least initially, then show them the money.

This was huge for the league, vets and owners. And fans. More money to keep aging vets IMO. That makes the show better.

The guy it hurt was Jake Locker. He would have challenged Bradford as the #1 pick and the rookie wage scale hadn't been put in place yet.

Locker had a down senior year and the new CBA stopped the big contracts.

He cost himself 10s of millions staying in school another year
