How many sacks will Taco Charlton accumulate in 2019?

Two. I don't see him getting a lot of snaps.

We have clear starters ahead of him with Quinn and Lawrence. Armstrong is developing and Gregory (when/if he returns) will play ahead of him. We also have Crawford/Hyder who potentially could play on the outside occasionally.

If Taco wants snaps on pass downs, he's going to have to get them at DT. He may get the start ahead of Quinn at RDE for base downs, but that could be Crawford too. Maybe Hyder.

Quinn and Armstrong are more pure rushers.

I know this -- if he wants to get his share of snaps, he'd best put in an impressive show in TC. It's hard to say how much his injured shoulder had hindered him last year but a good number considering the highly limited snaps he'll get would be about four or five. He's at his best vs. the run.

I have a feeling he will end up a rotational piece. I seriously doubt over 3. Which Sacks are nice way to end a pressure, but I would just like to see him put pressure on his side.

On a scale of 0-10 (0 = no sacks ; 10 = 10+ sacks), how many sacks will Taco Charlton accumulate in 2019?

Will he finally have a break out 3rd year and live up to his 1st round draft status, or will Taco be a bust?

I think the signing of Quinn gives you your answer...………….if Taco was ready to step in and be a 5-7 sack guy, they wouldn't have spent $8 million on Quinn.

I know DLaw broke out in year three, but he did show some flashes before then. The problem was he just kept getting injured early in his career. Taco on the other hand, has not shown any flashes at all.

I would be surprised if he has more than 2-3 sacks...…………...I think he is a "bust" at this point. It was bound to happen, the team has been nailing their first round picks the last several years and just the law of averages says you are going to miss on one occasionally. Well, Taco is the "one" we missed on...……..it happens, every team misses now and then in the first. The key is to limit your number of misses, that is what separates the good teams from the bad ones.

You want to know what the real kick to the nuts is?

We passed on Watt to draft this scrub...……………..Watt had how many sacks last year, 14?

Yea, that hurts, that hurts bad:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Some players come out of no where or are better than expected, and I feel like dang it would have been nice to draft that guy we missed out. But watt was one of those guys that literally half the people on this board were calling for at our pick. We not only missed, but had it staring up right in the face as an obvious choice. That to me makes it so much worse.

The main thing that stood out to me is the work ethic. The Watt brothers have a secluded cabin that they go to in the offseason and just spend every day training by themselves with nobody else around. That takes a hell of a lot of motivation to do that. Plus, you have the sibling rivalry aspect that you dont want to get showed up by your brother;)

In contrast, rumors are that the coaching staff questions if Taco even like the game or wants to play.

It just boggles the mind why they decided to go with Taco over Watt.

I hear you loud and clear BFE. I was somewhat upset when the Cowboys passed up on JJ Watt and instead traded up for Tyron Smith (who has been a good Left Tackle overall), but I honestly thought the Cowboys front office would have learned their lesson from passing up on the older Watt brother many years ago and instead would have grabbed the younger Watt brother solely based on pedigree, skills and family competitiveness. What were they thinking? Someone seriously dropped the ball this time. Totally inexcusable.

I was wrong about Taco over Watt. The pick should have clearly been Watt that year.
