Had someone else other than Jerry bought the team back in 1989, how many SB's do you think we would have won in the last 29 years?

I say at least 6

Aikman was going #1 no matter who owned or coached the Cowboys.

Does the Walker trade get done if another GM/Coach was here? Do they take that risk of trading away a #1 RB with a rookie QB?
We had a young Irvin and a rookie QB. Walker was a star RB that IMO most would of wanted to keep to build around a young team.

That trade allowed the Cowboys to be the team of the 90's.

Vikings first was used in a trade up to draft Emmitt.

Another pick was tossed around, leading to Darren Woodson(NE). Another pick eventually became Kevin Smith(ATL).

Feel free to base your guess on any scenario you think would have happen. Like Landry continuing, Walker stays, Aikman not drafted, whatever. The key is, had we had a different owner, how many SBs?

Anyone remembers who exactly was in the running? Was there a Japanese group?

and they got lucky with that. Jimmy wanted Francis the LB from Baylor.

0. Dan Snyder would have bought the team and we'd be stuck on 2.

No way to know but we have been paying big time the last 23 years for those 3 SBs.

Do we assume that whoever bought the team would have hired Jimmy Johnson, drafted Aikman, drafted Smith, etc.?

Since Jones bought the team, only New England (five) has more Super Bowl victories than Dallas' three. Denver also has three, while Green Bay, Pittsburgh and Baltimore have two. Plenty would say most of those have been better coached and have had better players than us at key positions.

This does not excuse the team from being more of a contender when it had Romo at QB, it just shows that it's hard to win Super Bowls no matter who the owner, coach and players are.

Way too many factors. Might be 12, might be none.
