B/w FA and the draft?

I'm a little unclear.

If Fleming is going to T..

and Hurns is going to flanker..

Where are the draftees landing?

Assuming the OL is corrected..

and the WRs are complete..

That leaves defense needing starters..

Safety

LBer

DL

all need new blood.

Can we find 3 starters in the draft for that?

If we can..

it would change the odds makers in Las Vegas on us.

I would also like a TE in our draft to add to DAKs offense to stretch the field.

That means 5 new starters b/w FA and the draft.

Is that too much?

Weigh in boys.

Actually not looking at too many new starters, but depth.
However if you count a few players in a rotation but not necessarily starters, a few more.

DT for sure, and LB.
Depending if Jones really is moved to CB, the then I can see 2 new S’s. And they may already be on the team as opposed to getting them in the draft.

New starter on OL as well.

They have set the roster up such that they are drafting for 2019 season starters, not 2018 season starters.

Obviously if the rookie wins a starting job that's great, but they have options at all positions with the current roster.

Most of the free agents were short term contracts.

LB
Lee/Jaylon/Thomas for 2 positions (MLB and WLB)
The odd man out competes with Wilson at SLB

Safety
Heath or Woods
Frazier or Woods

DE
DLaw and Taco probably start at DE. Crawford was 2017 starter. Datone Jones is an option.

DT
Collins and Irving likely start. Price is one of two 1-tech types. Datone Jones was OK in snaps at DT late last season.

TE
They kept Jarwin on the 53 all season. Rico will get a shot.
Witten restructured which means he is definitely staying.

Looks like they want to find a 1tech, mike and a safety in the draft

Should be fun... maybe a bit of reaching

Almost any player you take at 19 will start except maybe a WR of the players they would take
I think a LB could start, all he’d have to beat out if Wilson
Not sure we get 3 day one starters but what’s important is we get 3 or 4 that contribute and become good starters soon

Depends on who we pick.

Noone thought anthony brown a 6th round pick would start during his rookie year.

Ridley wouldnt start but payn or vea would.

We need 5 starters or at least if we could get 5 starters we would be a much improved team. Technically we could get by with zero if you are willing to have Damien Wilson starting, Heath Frazier and Woods manning the two safety spots and one of Martin or Fleming starting on the OL. We could also continue to get by with the DT's we have.

But to improve the team this is what we need.

LG or a RT so that collins can move to LG.
LB
1tech
FS
SS

Here is a draft that solves all by the end of the 4th rd. Use the other picks to move up and get them except for one late round pick that needs to be used on a change of pace back.

1
27
Hernandez, Will
G
2
50
Harrison, Ronnie
SS
3
77
Reid, Justin
FS
3
83
Settle, Tim
DT
3
89
Nwosu, Uchenna
OLB

Holy crap.

So you are saying 2019 is our goal..?

Damn.

You sure know how to hurt a guy.

Hernandez..

Yes.

Why? Rookie receivers rarely do much.

Then he'll fit right in. If we're taking him, it's because we want him to be our future #1. The more we play him, the faster he develops.

NFL site say "plug-and-play starter on day one." I think he is the consensus best prepared WR.

I think we want a big free safety that can play strong. I don’t think we want a strong safety only., but we do need a safety if Byron is going to corner. Woods is a sleeper to start at FS. Heath may defer to Frazier on running downs and maybe the rookie will beat out Heath.

We also need a lb and a og.

Hopefully it’s lb/guard/safety.
